Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 14, 2016 11:11 am Good morning all We are about to commence building our new home in Kellyville NSW. This will be our 2nd build. The first one we were young 20ish year olds with our first baby. We owner built it and scratched and scraped for everthing. 23 years later we have sold our first family home and are about to embark on building the 2nd. This time we have chosen to have a custom builder. We thought it would be nice this time round to have everything finished off and more emphasis on quality. So we have our design completed, plans approved by council and are patiently waiting for the moment we actually see something start to happen. We have chosen the following Bricks pgh Concord Roof tiles Sambucca Guttering Monument Fascia and windows Dune Garage door timberlook Front door timer Driveway charcoal I just cant decide on render. I have shortlisted Toffee Fingers But am worried it may be a bit deep ir dark. My other choices are Chocolate Tart Creamy chocolate or imperial Sand. Was wondering if anyone could pipe in with their thoughts please. Continues around the side as its a corner block. I was worried about too much brown. Dune is a possibility as it will match the fascia and windows and would tie it all in. We dont need to decide for a long while but I can't stop thinking about it. Thanks for your input Re: Stuck on render choice 5Mar 16, 2016 2:01 pm Hey! It's so exciting choosing all those colours, I hope it all goes well for you! We chose the sambucca roof tiles too (Which should be put on in the next few days, cant wait!) I think the sandy colour look for the render would look pretty awesome myself. We are on a corner block too and had to have a fair bit of render to the front and side so I know it's a big call. Always trust your gut feeling tho! Re: Stuck on render choice 6Mar 16, 2016 2:48 pm Philandbec.....yes exciting is one word for it.....terrified is another. I just want it to look good! The builder has said when the time comes he will get the painter to paint up some big boards of different colours so we can hold them up against the bricks..... Just drove past the block. There was a mention that fences would be delivered the end of last week. .... Nothing on the block except neighboring builders materials... Grrrrrrr Re: Stuck on render choice 10Mar 23, 2016 6:11 pm I like this option better. The other render seems too cream for my liking.
