So we took the easy way out, which was to get colours as per display which is fairly neutral and if we need a feature wall done we'll do it ourselves when we move in Re: Metricon Hudson KDR in Ryde - BRICKS 593Feb 11, 2015 11:29 am I don't mind as much as my better half, but she's kicking herself that she allowed the colour consultant to talk her out of using white on the walls. It's a really pale ice blue, in most light you can't tell it's different to the ceiling & in fact due to viewing-angle you probably can't tell at all 95% of the time; but the fact you know the wall's a different colour to the ceiling means you think you're seeing it most of the time. Summary - don't be bullied by the colour consultant! Re: Metricon Hudson KDR in Ryde - BRICKS 594Feb 12, 2015 1:36 pm Hi Sheilzy, just wanted to ask if you have ever had any problems from Metricon with posting any plans , elevations etc.? I have read across alot of forums that some builders crack down on clients showing off their designs. Our Metricon build is due to start any day, just waiting on the final word from the construction team. I have read across alot of forums that some builders crack down on clients showing off their designs. Our Metricon build is due to start any day, just waiting on the final word from the construction team. How exciting to be on the verge of starting construction! Do you have a thread or blog? I'd love to follow another M build I have our floor plans and elevation drawings on the blog. I know Shambini had to remove his floor plans from his blog but so far M haven't been in touch to take ours down. Re: Metricon Hudson KDR in Ryde - BRICKS 596Feb 12, 2015 2:09 pm Thanks Sheilzy Metricon have been great so far and you soon learn to treat them the way you want to be treated. I have a architectural background so it has been a little easier in understanding some of their ways. My only issue has been with the size of the water tank (they only put a 2000ltr on the plans and wanted to charge the excessive admin fee to up the size on the drawings). We quickly said no to that. How long did it take Metricon to supply your final construction drawings for sign off after you ticked all the boxes with finance approval etc.? Our get to site end date is at the end of march so we are getting a little nervous. Our minimal blog is listed below and will soon start to be more populated once I have something to report on. Re: Metricon Hudson KDR in Ryde - BRICKS 597Feb 12, 2015 2:41 pm That's a great advantage having an architectural background! We have an architect friend who we were fortunate enough to bounce design ideas from during the early admin stage. Why are you being charged admin fee for requesting to change size of the water tanks? Have you signed off on final construction plans? When we received ours, I found a couple of really minor errors on the drawings. These were corrected straight away so I think it was literally 24 hours from CSC emailing the plans though to us signing off and then being handed over to construction! Super quick! We were also stressing about missing the tender deadline but we flagged this very early when M were taking a long time to get our DA prepared for submission. We requested an extension which was granted. We were across everything we needed to provide ie we submitted demolition clearance certificate, letter of authority to commence construction from the bank etc so the delay was at their end. You should have plenty of time to hand the site over. I'll check out your blog now Re: Metricon Hudson KDR in Ryde - BRICKS 598Feb 12, 2015 9:36 pm Hey Metricon peeps, does Metricon encourage you all to blog? I read somewhere they give you prizes and you all seem to have one. I read somewhere they give you prizes and you all seem to have one. I was told by M that the blog is a great idea but no photos of the internals which might suggest that I was onsite with the supervisor. I was also asked to take down my plans as they are the intellectual property of metricon. I read somewhere they give you prizes and you all seem to have one. I haven't had any contact from M about my blog except for sending me a token gift when I hit 10000 page views. I have my floor plans and elevation drawings on the blog and I haven't had M request I take them down. Before we started, I'd religiously followed every Metricon blogs I could find and most of them had their plans and pics of internals on their blogs.
