Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1141Mar 13, 2015 7:08 pm I love the pendants from this lighting store from the US. Just a bit nervous about the extra effort not to mention extra cost to convert them to OZ standards. http://www.shadesoflight.com/lighting/p ... ng-lights/ Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1142Mar 13, 2015 7:34 pm TraceyWayne Wow, I had to read through so many posts to say thanks for the pics! I'm a very happy picture piggy. With the spot the difference was it the change in the garage beam bit? Love your kitchen cupboards especially then underbench ones, oh that's right, I choose them for my laundry haha. I like your stone and the floors and paint will add more glamour. Keep those pics coming oink oink I'll have to check what stone colour you chose for the laundry now... oinkers are us! my DH was there today and said we're locked out. I think our SS comes through on Fridays to check on things and does a proper lock up. Painting was meant to start today but due to the dreary weather I think they didn't do anything. (which I'm happy about as having painted many times definitely the guidance about wet weather and super hot weather should be adhered to!) I should have given you a warning before sharing the links. Bad timing shopping American with the AUD so low. Bummer Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1146Mar 13, 2015 8:08 pm @traceywayne you are right! we finally got that panel which was missing for such a long time Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1147Mar 13, 2015 8:26 pm Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1148Mar 13, 2015 8:28 pm Guys, lighting is one thing but beware of tapware. You can definitely use the stuff from the US but everything in Australia has to be Wels rated to be compliant and I can tell you nothing in the US is. Not a big deal for renos, but for a new build I don't think it's worth it or my place would be outfitted with Delta branded fittings. Or I would do some stuff like this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1149Mar 13, 2015 8:38 pm Yay, do I win a price haha Not sure about your sink, but it looks a bit different from your pictures. TheBigHouse, what a pity, love that tap! Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1150Mar 13, 2015 8:43 pm is the WELs thing new? Just that I know in our last build I bought some tapware from overseas and there didn't seem to be any issue? (build was in 2009/2010) Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1151Mar 14, 2015 9:59 am I don't think WELs is that new. In most cases it'd be on your basix certificate that they'd have to comply but in reality most Certifier's wouldn't go around actually checking them and I'd have a guess many wouldn't know if they didn't comply? Could be wrong Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1152Mar 14, 2015 1:12 pm Our builders plumber would not install anything that is not Wels rated. Doesn't mean there aren't plumbers who will of course. Can't remember if you went 2700 ceilings and higher doors? Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1155Mar 15, 2015 5:13 pm Thanks TW We only upgraded to 2590 ceilings (we aren't that tall). And I have found that there have been times when we are in 2700 ceiling display houses and it just feels too big. I think to some extent it's because the doors are too high or not high enough. We haven't worked out what doesn't work for us but there is something! But definitely recommend taller doors if you do have taller ceilings. We tried getting taller stacker doors (from 2100 to 2400) but with 2590 ceilings it doesn't work apparently. So we only have 2100 doors. Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1156Mar 15, 2015 5:24 pm Thanks for clarifying, I'm trying to get a feel for the height factor, we have 2700 ceilings throughout, along with a raked roof with louvers above some doors but not all. One of the difficulties when there isn't a display home to see. Can't wait to see yours all painted Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: KDR with Sekisui House: benchtops in 1157Mar 15, 2015 5:44 pm paring things down to the bare minimum to move in by order or priority 1 fridge (I can do without if I had to... I can do tea/coffee at work or do without milk and cook fresh food every evening) 2 curtains (or some sort of window covering for the bedroom) 3 carpet in bedroom (again if I have to I could just camp but carpet in the bedroom will mean we can live relatively comfortably) 4 driveway (needed for delivery of floorboards in my opinion) 5 Internet (who would have thunk it would be 5th!!) 6 Dog door and appropriate fencing (he can stay with my MIL or mum if we aren't sorted) Have we forgotten anything?? See what you mean about the doors and yes in that pic too narrow, proportion all wrong. We don't have many enclosed doors, more stackers, just bedroom doors to worry about I think in terms of proportion, so far sticking to normal height doors. Thanks for the pic Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37160 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19114 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13449 |
