I have actually been grateful for the "Things you forget" thread on here. Has saved at least one major issue for us but cost us a fortune in ideas Love your colour selections too Re: Building with Ventura in Providence Estate, Wellard 29Feb 17, 2014 10:07 pm Yes I have read it a few times but plan to go over it again! I will post all my costings and hopefully don't have to rob a bank on the way home Providence Estate - Wellard, WA - Ventura https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68532 Pinterest (all selections): http://www.pinterest.com/aimees88/final-house-selections/ Re: Building with Ventura in Providence Estate, Wellard 30Feb 20, 2014 8:46 pm Loving all your choices aimee!!! Your floorplan looks great and the pit in your alfresco is magical - I am soooo jealous! Love all the colour choices too...we have also picked black tiles for the ensuite/bathroom. Are you also getting black grout? I have heard that it can sometimes go mucky but want that all black look. Looking forward to following your build Re: Building with Ventura in Providence Estate, Wellard 31Feb 21, 2014 4:53 pm Thanks Well the pit is on the wish list - I am a while from that though!! Yes we chose the black grout... the tile lady suggested it but didn't mention it may go bad so I hope it is okay! We had our prestart today Come in under 'budget' (it was a very loose budget because I had no idea!) The interior designed that helped with the colour selection said our selections were really good so that was promising! I will post full colours and pricing shortly. Biggest surprise was the LED package - 16 lights for $1695! I had been reading LED lights can cost up to $250 a light so was very happy with this price! I remembered everything BUT pictures! Urgh I know we choose a Surfmist roof! We chose a dark grey feature render and a light grey all over. To render the whole house was going to cost $1850 which was one thing we declined at our pre start, we chose the LED lights instead. I think I was so worried about getting everything right, I just totally forgot. We chose Formica Burnt Strand for our Ensuite (hopefully will go with our black tiles!) We chose Laminex Chalky Teak for our bathroom and laundry Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And we chose Polar White with the satin finish for our kitchen! (this was a win for me because my boyfriend did not want a all white kitchen!) We also got brushed aluminum for our island bench (stool side) which made him slightly happier. Face brick - Brikmakers Loongana Limestone Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Other changes we made at prestart: - Bulkhead and overhead cabinets to fridge recess - $783 - Glass window splash back to kitchen (3810 x 772) - very excited about this! $898, which should look something like this.... (I hope) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - Upgrade to all doors - approx $748 to something like this.... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - Upgrade to front door - $343 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - 3 phase power - $750 - Lockable meter box - $73 - TBar to garage - $1187 - Double door frame to front - $53 - Door frame to hallway - $115 - Sliding door to pantry - $221 - Door and frame to laundry - $453 - Had a 2 x 1 section cut out of the hallway between meals and theatre to later install a aluminum partition - $124 - 4 awning windows to elevation with contrast render, remove blade wall - $350 - Brick and door to Theatre - $748 - Brushed aluminium panel to island bench - $172 - Silk finish to kitchen cupboards - $358 - Tap to fridge recess -$197 - Island cupboards swapped to 900 pot drawers (3 equal sizes) - $1440 - Installed cupboards under bench in laundry - $534 - Lay tiles to games and 2 hallways - $1264 - Upgrade carpet and underlay - $1170 - Increase width of Ensuite, extend tiling and mirror to suit and provide a 1000mm high nib wall to shower recess - $854 - added 3 draws to ensuite - $270 - Extra cost to lay porcelain tiles to ensuite, bathroom and laundry - $1200 and small extra cost of about $50 to lay feature tiles in bathroom and ensuite - Upgraded basins to ensuite/bathroom - $168 - Removed a .5m section of laundry cupboard for brooms etc - no cost - Mirrored robes to all minor rooms - no cost - Removed paving from Alfresco (to install a deck at a later date) and used it to pave laundry side and extend driveway - no cost - Nib wall to bathroom - $285 - Changed both shower heads - Removed ceramic laundry sink and replaced with stainless - Changed Games Room window to sliding door - $342 - Electrical - 16 LED lights, doubled the amount of power points ($64 each), extra junction box over island bench, 5 external lights, conduit to Theatre, 3 extra TV points .... I think that's it - $3995 - Moved soakwells in case of future pool (no cost) - Moved taps (no cost) I think that is pretty much it.... The 2 things we didn't do which were maybes were: - Render whole house - $1850 - went with LED instead - Hobless showers - $1700 - couldn't justify All up prestart costs were about $18,500 which we were happy to spend (wanted to spent less than $20k). I think most of the prices were fair and I had expected a bit more for some key items - LED's, kitchen splash back etc All up we were there for about 5 hours. Our prestart lady was very helpful and the Ventura Interior Designer was great (even though we really knew what we wanted already, she did put my mind at ease and helped us choose a paint colour). Sorry about the novel - I will update with exact costs and new plans/elevations when I receive.
