Does anyone know if PD arrange for the installation of the gas metre prior to your PC Inspection as I would need gas on to test things like heating. Do I just need to transfer gas into my name on completion date or do I need to arrange for the whole gas metre installation. I am unsure as I have a conflict in my contract. Thanks in advance Re: Gas Metre installation and PD 2May 21, 2008 12:30 pm From memory, they actually connect the gas straight into your name. Phone and electricity etc you do yourslef, but they do the gas for you. Ours was connected in the last day or two before handover. Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: Gas Metre installation and PD 7May 22, 2008 9:41 am You ALWAYS have a choice for your gas and electricty retailer (don't let anyone tell you otherwise - developers and estate agents often get kick-backs for signing up clients to a certain company and will tell porky-pies to get it) but the network provider ALWAYS remains the same. I work in the energy industry and initially, it is advisable to open the account with the provider as it can take some time for an incoming retailer to take over the billing for a site and and you may find yourself suddenly disconnected if the provider does not have an account holder or another retailer listed for the site.
