Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 25, 2011 9:22 am I am enquiring about the difference in floor level between a garage floor and the house level. I note the building code of australia, that requires a minimum 50mm step up from garage to house level. However, after the step up, can a basement room then step down again? If so, what distance from the garage would be acceptable? Is the step up just to stop surface water running into the house, or is it an issue for water that is seeping through the concrete floor and then rising into the basement area.
