Maybe have one, but use shutters in summer to stop heat, but will be nice light during other months coming into that entranceway Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1969Oct 26, 2013 7:37 pm Thanks for the comments Kiwi Fear not re the south facing dining window as it is only 6 courses high with the bottom at floor level. I had the same concerns as yourself. I'm a good looker at 6am but the missus is a bit rough Window will look a bit like this lower one Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 101 Residential in Burns Beach viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67711 Shire Approval 31.12.13 Slab Down 15.02.14 Moved in 14.10.14 Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1970Oct 26, 2013 7:49 pm Best keep her hidden then. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1971Oct 26, 2013 8:07 pm Also the other window facing west in the dining room is 6c high at a high level so we can fit a wall mounted washing line and HWU under the window without having to look at them. Cottage blocks sure need some thinking 101 Residential in Burns Beach viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67711 Shire Approval 31.12.13 Slab Down 15.02.14 Moved in 14.10.14 Custom Floor Plan input please :) - modern acreage 1973Nov 17, 2013 4:45 pm I'm back and with the closest I've ever been to a plan that's what we're really looking for Many months ago I posted in this thread this plan... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Then with a slight variation - there was this one... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But with some thinking and rejigging (lots really, so much so that it's barely recognisable!) we've come up with this... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I've just sent it off to the builder to get drawn up properly (or at least in CAD with some measurements) but there are a couple of things niggling at me and I was wondering if I could have some input? - I know I'd like more robe space in beds 2,3&4. What if I put a robe all along the bathroom wall in bed4 (to help dull the noise from the bathroom as well)? Then what about 2&3? I liked what I had in my original plan with the matching WIR but I'd even consider just two long robes. - I really think the kitchen could do with some help. I'd love to fit a breakfast nook in there somewhere if possible. - anything else wrong or could be better? Some notes: - the block is an acre on a corner and the house will be angled so it's nearly straight across the block diagonally - north is to the rear - I stole the plan (even though I've cut it up so much you probably wouldn't be able to tell what it started as!) from Me+r1c0n and it was a small plan (247sqm) so while I've added a room or two what I mostly want to do is make it all just a smidge bigger - the little L shaped wall in the rumpus is a half wall. Mum thinks it's an issue that I can't completely block off that room - what do you think? I was planning on making the cavity slider between it and the entry a solid core one. - I'll probably bring the wall in the Master hallway out in line - all showers will be bigger with no screens - just walk in - the study nook and pantry will each have a tall skinny window Please and thank you! I would get rid of wardrobe in bed 4 ( as will make roof larger more $$) and have it against bathroom like you said. Half wall...don't know. If it is the kids wing, forget walls, that would be me. It's a rumpus, use all the space. I have my master away from kids..love love love it cos they are over 11 I wouldn't have 2 doors in walk in robe, we have one..from ensuite into wardrobe. Love it, use the ensuite a lot more than the wardrobe, so I like it that way rather than walk through robe ( always looking at the mess) into ensuite. If you get rid of door at end of robe your storage would increase quite a bit, or put a nice mirror there and a Stool so you can sit and blow dry hair out of hubby's way etc or put on shoes, I wouldn't have a door. But depends how you live. If you work, you might come home and go straight to change and then dump? If so keep the door. If you dump and then change, get rid of the door as you will be going via ensuite. Don't know re the dining area. But looks good. Builder might be able to tweek it to make it really sharp. Or spend an hour paying a designer.? But looks good. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1975Nov 17, 2013 7:53 pm Could you line up the outside wall of bedroom 2 in line with the theatre? That should allow you to have a full width wardrobe in bedrooms 2 & 3 and maybe even bedroom 4. Re: Custom Design floor plan thread post them here!! 1976Nov 17, 2013 8:53 pm I know what you're saying kiwi but we have our reasons. Alan gets up at stupid o'clock to go to work and at our previous house in QLD he'd walk into robe, grab clothes, into ensuite to do business and get changed. With two doors shut between the bed and his noise I rarely woke. I've actually been thinking about deleting the door into the ensuite from the bedroom. At the moment that room is only about 4*4.5 or something which I think could be bigger. Plus, we're getting the 'shiftworker' pack for the master bedroom and that door will impact it I reckon. Double glazing the windows, extra insulation, soundcheck gyprock, solid core door. He'll sleep like a baby on night shift! I'm putting my shoe putting on ottoman in that little corner behind the toilet But without walls in the rumpus where do you put stuff? The left wall will be mostly glass and a slider, the top wall is a cupboard... Where does the TV go? Bookcases? catjim Could you line up the outside wall of bedroom 2 in line with the theatre? That should allow you to have a full width wardrobe in bedrooms 2 & 3 and maybe even bedroom 4. Yep, that could work. How would you get into bed2 though? I think the Theatre will end up being too long and we'll have to shorten it. Alan keeps talking about the "ideal dimensions" but he won't give them to me. Then you can have a big sectional where that wall was, a nice coffee table, a nice large lounging area. Yeah, i'ld just have one door then, prob from the master to ensuite, but make it a solid door to stop noise. And have more storage in wardrobe.
