Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 01, 2010 5:40 pm Hi all, We fell in love with the colour this house once we saw it and we decided that we should change the colour of our selection before it's too late. I'm planning to contact the builder and ask them about these colours, but decided that I should ask HomeOne members first Do you guys know what colour are the bricks, garage door, mortar, and render ? I thought they might be Majestic Grey or Karrington Silver. But I wasn't sure whether they're Boral bricks ?! The roof is more of grey colour, so don't worry about it Do the gutters/downpipes look more of a Woodland Grey ? Happy New year to you too It does look like woodland grey, we have that colour on our house. I like the roller door colour too, hopefully someone will be able to ID that for you. Re: What colour brick, render, and mortar does this house have ? 7Jan 01, 2010 7:17 pm Southies The garage door looks like jasper ?? Jasper is more of a dark brown colour, right ? The door is more of a dark green/grey. Thanks for your input Edited: I just found a sample from Colourbond, and I think the garage door IS JASPER Thank you Southies. Now I need to find out what the mortar and brick colour is Re: What colour brick, render, and mortar does this house have ? 8Jan 01, 2010 9:01 pm Hi I also think the bricks are Austral Nougat , the colour changes depending on the light, (photos on blog) with off white flush mortar. Re: What colour brick, render, and mortar does this house have ? 9Jan 01, 2010 10:08 pm hi italk, If u still remember the address of the house, u can ring the Boral branch for the suburb of the hse( or Austal or other companies) and ask what the bricks, roof tiles for that address. Re: What colour brick, render, and mortar does this house have ? 11Jan 02, 2010 10:57 am I definitely think the downpipes are jasper as well, they match the garage door. The facia looks to be jasper, the guttering lighter, could be dune as bel suggested. If you look where the guttering of the garage where it joins to the rendered section, they look to be the same colour. Dune is a hard colour to figure out - it changes with the light. I thought it would be lighter than that, but if the photo was taken in a shadow, it might not be. Re: What colour brick, render, and mortar does this house have ? 12Jan 02, 2010 12:46 pm Thanks guys. Yeah, the garage door, window frame, downpipes seem to be all the same colour which is Jasper There are two issue so far. The builder has already ordered and delivered our black framed windows before the slab is poured , so I'm not too sure if it's easy for them to replace them with Jasper instead of black The other issue is the bricks. Does anybody know if these Austral Nougat bricks have equivalent Boral colour match ? Looking at Boral website, it looks like there are two options so far. I'm not too sure guys if there are any other matches, but we're happy to see your opinions in other alternatives (1) the Moss Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ (2) and The Mist Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Which one do you think is close in colour to the Nougat ? Re: What colour brick, render, and mortar does this house have ? 13Jan 02, 2010 12:52 pm Have you signed off on the black window color? If you have, I don't like your chances of changing to the Jasper. If you haven't, well I would say you are in your rights to change to Jasper, and the builder has just ordered what they thought ??? Have you asked your builder if in fact you can order Austral bricks and pay a surcharge? The 2 bricks you posted I'd say the top one is more similar, but it's hard to tell on the computer. The Moss looks a little more creamy/yellowy and the Mist more gray??? Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: What colour brick, render, and mortar does this house have ? 14Jan 02, 2010 12:55 pm I think the top one looks more similar from those photos but I like the bottom one better. If you already have your window frames, I doubt you will be able to change them. Im not quite sure but I think Jasper might also be an upgrade... I know Dune is but not sure on Jasper. Dont worry too much about having black ones thoug, im sure all of your other colour choices will still look good with them. You might have trouble changing other colour choices too though because your builder might have already ordered the bricks etc. Re: What colour brick, render, and mortar does this house have ? 16Jan 03, 2010 1:08 pm iTalk Thanks guys. We have selected Nougat for our build and I'm looking at our sample brick right now and the 2nd pic (Mist) is definitely closest to that. Kim Re: What colour brick, render, and mortar does this house have ? 17Jan 18, 2010 7:37 am I took samples of the Boral Mist/Moss/Coco and went to the house. I put all them side by side, and it seems that MOSS is the closest colour to the one on the house. Their mortar doesn't look the grey-ish type (not the natural colour supplied by builders), instead it looks a bit creamy colour. Is that what they call off-white ? Cheers Re: What colour brick, render, and mortar does this house have ? 18Jan 18, 2010 9:12 am Hi iTalk If you look at the photos on my blog I have off white mortar, flush finish. your builder would be able to answer that question accurately based on plan. 1 4686 Thanks for the detailed comments chippy, I'll use this as a guide. 3 10089 Recently I moved to a 30 year old house and found within few months there are small brown nests in the brick mortar and few small round holes in few places of brick… 0 29773 |
