Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 17, 2007 10:37 pm 6 weeks later and my brickies have finally finished.....yes 6 WEEKS
These guys where definetly the kings of smoko's...they had that part of the job perfected!! Oh well not much I can do....they did a great job and the roof carpenters started the next day at a much faster pace so all is good and still on track for a December handover! Re: They Have Finally Finished.... 2Jul 18, 2007 6:31 am Awesome stuff! Our roof was on before the bricks. Can I ask why is there so much cement on the bricks, are you getting it rendered and they don't care about the mess? Our Adenbrook home was completed in September. Re: They Have Finally Finished.... 5Jul 19, 2007 12:57 am thats great perth girl. Can i ask who you are building with and how ling your bricks sat there after being delivered before theystarted work? Re: They Have Finally Finished.... 6Jul 19, 2007 10:29 am Hi off2theburbs - we are building with Ventura Homes. The brickies started about 4 weeks after the slab went down - which is pretty normal as it gives time for the slab to cure! I think the actual bricks where delivered about a week before thye started and the window frames etc. basically the day before they started.
Who are you building with? Have you started yet? Re: They Have Finally Finished.... 7Jul 19, 2007 2:20 pm building with homebuyers slabs down and bricks get delivered on friday, i forgot to ask when i spoke with our liason officer earlier in the week and since she is due to ring monday again i thought i would just wait

thats great that they are finished. was it 6 weeks due to shortage of layers or just the group you had? We got our bricks last week heading out tomorrow to see if anything has happen yet. We are building with Homestrart out in Kwanana area. Not sure how long they have given for the bricks to get dont but they being doing everything else in good time frame so should be same I hope. Tania Re: They Have Finally Finished.... 13Aug 26, 2007 6:41 pm I'm not sure what happened to my photo's - they were here before! I'll post up some new ones next week when the roof is finished!
Tania - the 6 weeks was because the brickie team were slow and only worked part-time....completely hopeless! The last 2 times we have built brickwork has only taken 3 weeks from start to finish! Good luck with your home! interesting situation what happened after builder issued final invoice? did you list as defect or not does the building surveyor have any responsibility? ie. issuing… 13 48388 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
