It had a lot of choice and alot of different displays ... a few bathrooms and kitchens etc. I didn't see the old showroom or any other builders showrooms so nothing to really compare to... but I really did think it was fantastic. I asked the colour girl about the difference and she said that this was much much better than the old one. By the way I have changed my bathroom colours quite a bit from that last post so don't take too much notice of it! S&P - I'm not sure that they can add them to the blog thread at the moment due to the forum upgrades (no post editing...) hopefully they change it!! Yeah you can actually add your blog to it, Nicola (Phoenix the Site Admin) I think edited the post to add more links. JUst leave a comment and someone should be at it. And within budget (the budget we only set yesterday.. ) We were in for one surprise before tender though. Yesterday we recieved a phone call from our CLE who had some information for us so tht we had been 'warned' before tender (the day after). Basically we were told that we could not alter the plumbing in the kitchen. This made us (particularly my partner) very upset . We had planned to change the appliances in the kitchen around quite a bit, mostly to take the oven and rangehood off the island bench. This decision was made when we first saw the house and was never objected to up until this point. Following the call I immediately called our sales person at Lyndhurst who did a fantastic job looking up records, calling the sales manager and basically forming a case for us. The sales manager approved the change! YAY! The sales manager did mention that a decision was made that from April 1 no plumbing changes can be made. But we signed at the start of Feb so just made it in time! ANYWAY... onto tender. We made a few changes, adding locks, flyscreens, flywire doors, etc. Also changed the electrical plan so that we were basically only getting batten points throughout. We will get downlights put in after handover (for half the price!) Still waiting on a price for grey water pipes.. hopefully they will get back to us soon A few of the prices also surprised us in a good way, although a few things didn't really go our way... $200 to move a wall 0.5m sounds a bit steep to me... but oh well... you win some you lose some! Hopefully the colours turn out alright a few are taken from the display home I did mention that we stayed within the proper budget we set yesterday. Great that you seem to be getting what you want within what you are happy to spend. I still think Carlisle have some great standard inclusions which helps - like the spa of course (very much looking forward to that), lots of pot drawers, tiled skirtings in wet areas, tiled shower bases etc. We will have lovely Monaco 32s at the end of all this! Well done on getting through the colour selections!! Just wondering, your carpet, is that the standard range? Did you get that in the promo? Sorry I missed this question! Colour is from the standard range. It's called Maybrook Villa 575 It also only cost a bit over $700 to upgrade the tiles to timber laminate! Always good to be within budget, kinda! $700 for laminate upgrade, not too bad. Good on you! I'm glad you were able to change the plumbing for kitchen. It's good that you had a good sales person and Nathan was able to go into battle for you, so to speak. I didnt have such a great sales person, but lucky i learnt from this forum that you need everything in writting. Which was what i did, and i had to bring it out at tender with a few things. It doesn't make it easy when there isn't someone really good to help early on. Nathan was great. Our biggest problem is that it doesn't really seem like anyone at Carlisle really has a good idea about how to deal with optical fibre cabling. They have quoted us for standard tv cabling with aerial and also standard tv points, when both of these should be running with the fibre optics. Hopefully we get it sorted out!!! (I dont really know how it all works or how to make best use of it either!!!) Building Monaco32 with Carlisle Homes in Alamanda Estate 20/08/2010 - HANDOVER 24/8!! One final question, did you need a bank's approval before you can sign the tender? Or is that only needed when you go to sign the contracts? We havent signed our tender yet, and not sure what we actually need. Thanks. Not entirely sure if it was necessary. My hubby and I are also building Monaco 32 at Alamanda stage 7. Just had our tender appointment with CH today and we're looking at some of the prices that they're charging us. They quoted us approx $15k as a fixed site costs (including, fencing, rock removal, etc). It has to be a fixed site cost as our land is not ready (and wont be ready until July) for them to do soil test yet. Just wondering is this the same for your case? Thanks Re: Carlisle Homes - Monaco 32 - Tender done! 79Apr 27, 2009 4:42 pm Hi! Welcome to Alamanda and Carlisle!! Our site costs were $12.7k and council costs were $2k. So about the same. Do you have a link to the floorplan want to get a feel for the dimensions of the house in the 32sq size. We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37155 Carlisle use to sneak a water resistant "Performance Solution" into their contracts.
