Re: Suspended concrete slab alternatives - AlphaFloor 4Mar 29, 2023 11:06 am ![]() ![]() Hi there, Just wondering if anyone has had any experience using XCEM AlphaFloor as an alternate to a suspended concrete slab? If so, what was your experience? Thanks! Interesting product, seems to be very very decent alternative to Hebel Panels. How is it priced? Agree, i think its also a bit cheaper than hebel. The issue is i can't seem to find any reviews of their products on google or youtube. It could be because its a newish product, but im just being a bit cautious... "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!" Would be great to hear if anyone has used the material and can vouch for it. If so, what was your experience? Thanks! Hi Sam0000, Did you end up getting information on XCEM Alphafloor as I could not find reviews on it and posted my below queries in a thread. Has anyone used XCEM Alphafloor concrete panels for subfloor and would recommend them over other subfloor options (Hebel Powerfloor, Plywood, particle board)? I would like to get an idea of supply and installation cost per sqm for XCEM Alpha flooring. Also, I want to know if Alphafloor panels considerably lower the noise (talking, music etc.) transmission between between floors on their own or I will need additional measures such as soundscreen (acoustic insulation)? Re: Suspended concrete slab alternatives - AlphaFloor 8Oct 29, 2023 1:18 pm We are evaluating this Alphafloor and the Alphapanel as an alternative - the specifications on paper seem impressive but not having anyone on this forum or elsewhere to provide real experiences is holding us back. BTW we did speak to some builders who have used this product and have received good feedback on their experiences (as long as you take up on their installation services provided by a third party provide that includes some sort of warranty on the overall deployment). Ideally we would like to know someone who can provide some independent acoustic tests and specifically their implementation in building a house with both the Alphafloor and Alphapanel. Why don't you give a call to XCEM guys and ask them to give you addresses of some houses/customers who installed it? I'm not sure if they have distribution in other states. I might make an enquiry. I am in central Victoria planning to build a small Two bedroom cabin Re: Suspended concrete slab alternatives - AlphaFloor 14Feb 27, 2024 6:07 pm If still interestedin this stuff… which looks like it might save me the cost of a suspended slab. Re: Suspended concrete slab alternatives - AlphaFloor 17Mar 22, 2024 10:36 am Hi Everyone, Alphafloor is available through Dahlsens in Sydney and Melbourne. We are currently carrying stock at our laverton store in Melbourne and are in the process of stocking it at our Smithfield and Kirrawee stores in Sydney. Feedback from our customers that have used it so far is very good. Re: Suspended concrete slab alternatives - AlphaFloor 18Jun 18, 2024 8:00 pm ![]() Hi PhanT, I PM you about the Alphafloor. I’m considering using it in my build. How have you found the acoustics downstairs? Is it solid? Any problems? Many thanks Re: Suspended concrete slab alternatives - AlphaFloor 19Jun 21, 2024 3:03 pm ![]() ![]() Hi there, Just wondering if anyone has had any experience using XCEM AlphaFloor as an alternate to a suspended concrete slab? As everyone keeps talking about this floor and there is such little information available I have decided to take the plunge and be a guinea pig......getting a quote. Interested to see how it compares to Hebel. One downside already though is it's only 35mm so we need to do 60mm cut outs in our floor joists to get the set downs in wet areas for the flush floor look.
