A bit off topic, but what are views on upgrading from 2750 to 3000 ceiling height? We originally included a PA in our tender to go up to 3000, but wondering if it's really worth it or putting that money elsewhere since it's a decent amount to do the upgrade. I've got a raked ceiling from 2750 to 3000. That is really noticble and I would highly recommend it in the living area if you've got the budget Re: Ceiling heights with Metricon (2550, 2700) 23Feb 28, 2023 12:11 pm AJ1111 Interesting post. I was actually thinking 3000 too.. I likely wouldn't go for it but I do like the feeling of space with 3000. If it is for the entire house (or entire ground floor of a double storey), however, we might want to consider that all doors need to be at least 2340 high (ideally 2600-2700?), windows need to be much longer, and overhead cabinets in kitchen, laundry, WIP etc. need to be longer too in order to avoid huge bulkheads. It might also incur additional costs to achieve 6 star energy rating. So the upgrade cost of 3000 ceilings could involve more than the ceilings.. Upgrades doors aren't as cheap as you'd hope depending on profile. Building Standards; Getting It Right!
