Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 13, 2021 9:37 am Hi Guys We are ready to build our new home with either ICF or Hebel. Not sure which way to go. I am looking to compare the two from following perspective. Any previous study or website referral is most appreciated. We are based in Melbourne. 1 Insulation or R Value 2 Moisture retention 3. Facade and design flexibility 4. Finish from the the facade articulations like boxing and ability to have greater appeal. 5. Costing. 6. Need to have timber framing from inside and does the cost is a factor consider? Thanks in advance for your advices. Re: ICF Vs Hebel 3Nov 17, 2021 8:33 pm Ashington Homes What are your reasons for narrowing down to these two? Not any particular reason. Its just that I don't know much about them as have always built with Bricks and timber homes. I am looking to build a new house and was suggested to look at ICF given high timber costs these days. Cheers I chose Hebel for its insulation characteristics & cost efficiencies compared to bricks when Rendered (we have rendered all around). I understand builders are promoting hebel FPS its faster time to install & less wastage. Also I went with True Core Steel frames to avoid getting caught into the supply delays. Please look up my post for more details on the specs.
