I'm still dreading them hitting rock and having to pay for rock removal (I have a rock clause). Also dreading problems with the build, build defects... the usual. I wish I had a time machine, I'd go back in time and be like "don't be stupid!! Stop now!!" Re: {dawn} S.E Melb - 4 months no slab :( 683Jun 16, 2016 7:59 pm I am lost for words and don't blame you for feeling down about the whole process but once it does start you will be so happy. I just want my house so I can get a puppy and start living my life, I've put everything on hold..its been 3 yrs since I moved home to save for a house. I never thought I'd still be living at home at nearly 30 Re: {dawn} S.E Melb - Something happened at last! 685Jun 17, 2016 6:44 pm So I'm super excited to share that I got approval on my plans from the estate's design panel today!!! YAY. Only took a couple of months but anyways, let's focus on the positives... one step closer to starting the build. The builder needs to apply for building permits now, I hope it is really quick.. how long does it usually take? Anyone? I will say my builder was fantastic, he said on Tuesday that he would try to have the amended plans back from the architect... but he actually managed to get both that and the energy rating sent to the design panel and got back approval by lunch time today. SO happy. I'm so glad we are done with this part of the build. Still a small chance I can move in before Xmas now *fingers crossed* I like to think my meddling (by calling the estate directly) has helped in some way to get this all sorted sooner.. but will never know for sure. Re: {dawn} S.E Melb - 4 months no slab :( 686Jun 17, 2016 7:20 pm Regardless of the why or how's it is done! Woohoo!!! So happy for you! Our building permit only took a couple of days, could not believe it! Anyway looking forward to your build now My 2016 build viewtopic.php?t=81011 Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81011 Re: {dawn} S.E Melb - Something happened at last! 687Jun 17, 2016 8:33 pm aloenyx So I'm super excited to share that I got approval on my plans from the estate's design panel today!!! Re: {dawn} S.E Melb - Some progress at last! 690Jun 17, 2016 11:22 pm So much has happened while I was away...congratulations Dawn , you are Getting close. Building permit only took 2 days for us. Yes your building plans must include the fencing and landscape design (although ours won't be built by BB) BB just did us a favour without extra charge. We did paid the fence bond of $2500. The wet weather is not to our favour at the moment. Fences are up but BB cannot start all. Looks like a delay till end of June or even as long rain continues. No slab = no build ? Re: {dawn} S.E Melb - Some progress at last! 693Jun 18, 2016 9:23 pm My builder is paying the levy, and then he will invoice me for it. We discussed it ages ago, so not too worried about that. I should go see my land.. make sure there's no more dumping going on.. maybe tomorrow. Re: {dawn} S.E Melb - Some progress at last! 695Jun 18, 2016 10:12 pm Tried to take pics of mine today through window but it's like a mud bath, couldn't get on the block at all. Winter no fun for building! My 2016 build viewtopic.php?t=81011 Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81011 Re: {dawn} S.E Melb - Some progress at last! 696Jun 18, 2016 11:13 pm Eeek! Not looking forward to building mid winter. I was suppose to be building this time last year, but I feel like last year was not as wet. Do you have a completion date yet? Can't be too much longer? Re: {dawn} S.E Melb - Some progress at last! 697Jun 18, 2016 11:28 pm Head office say handover first week in August, SS says if everything keeps progressing the way it has been it will be more like late July. How long will that make your build overall? I've been told by my builder my house will take 6 months.. quite long compared to a lot of the volume builders, but hopefully it pays off in quality. Re: {dawn} S.E Melb - Some progress at last! 699Jun 19, 2016 8:54 am Site was scraped early April so we are very happy. We were originally told 4-5 months. We are very happy with the quality so far, more than happy. One of our neighbours is using a small builder and their house has progressed at about the same pace as ours. Following along! Can't wait to see your build come to fruition, a long time coming for you GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 35161 6 57456 Soak wells and electrical run in happening this week! Summit has told me they will relocate the laundry plumbing after the walls are completed. I'm actually pretty happy… 13 37182 |
