We are getting the family/guest extension as well as the alfresco on the Waldorf 48. Just to let you know you can get the Corinthian door RETAIL prices on their website. Here's a list of what PD charges: - To upgrade from flush to panelled - $77 - To upgrade to panelled and taller doors - $230 - To put in an extra flush door eg. ensuites - $184 - To put in a panelled, taller door eg. home theatre room - $414 - To put in a sliding flush door eg. main ensuite $481 Hope that helps. Re: Price of category 8 brick for Porter Davis Prestige 62Mar 13, 2011 7:40 am Hi J33 ,can I ask why you didn't choose Newport. Re: Price of category 8 brick for Porter Davis Prestige 63Mar 13, 2011 3:59 pm pattycake4 Hi J33 ,can I ask why you didn't choose Newport. It may be because the Newport are a cat. 6 brick which costs around $6,200 as an upgrade on the Waldorf 44. The Homestead mushroom or tan are a cat.2 upgrade. Re: Price of category 8 brick for Porter Davis Prestige 65Mar 13, 2011 5:00 pm Hi J33 ,can I ask why you didn't choose Newport. I have in fact decided to got with Newport. Initially i wasn't sure about paying $6-7K but since the homestead range now no onger look like what they used to (According to Austral and having looked at their samples), i am now prepared to fork out the extra, now sure how much its going to be til Tues. Re: Price of category 8 brick for Porter Davis Prestige 66Mar 13, 2011 5:08 pm I have seen 3 display home in newport that's the brick i am having. Can have a look at Catlin's thread type in newport Re: Price of category 8 brick for Porter Davis Prestige 67Mar 13, 2011 5:37 pm j33va19 But it looks so different on the AUSTRAL display but thought its ok...spoke with a guy at Austral only to find out that Homestead mushroom is now much lighter now, Homestead Tan is now got a orange tinge and orange specks throughout it (pretty standard according to him) ...and this is because of factory changes and this is how they will be till the end of the year when Austral moves factories...a bit of a problem as I now have to fork our for upgraded bricks. Hi j33, Can you please clarify for me what you were told at Austral. "Homestead Mushroom bricks are now much lighter" - So are they now lighter than what they were 6 months ago? Will they stay this way only until the end of the year when they move factories? Or, is it once they move factories they will then change to the lighter brick? Just trying to work out the reason they will be lighter than what they currently are, if nothings changed or won't be changing until they move factories next year?? Thanks, mimi Re: Price of category 8 brick for Porter Davis Prestige 68Mar 14, 2011 10:59 am Hi Mimi, The guy at Austral display centre showed us the homestead range and advised us that the batches they are getting and will continue to get until the end of the year are different to what they were (no sure how long ago they changed). They are not the same as the samples they have at Hopetoun. The mushroom are lighter, without very many black specks. The Tan range now have orange specks running through them and look very different. Might be worth going to Deer Park and having a look. Thanks, mimi This is correct, Homestead mushroom is now lighter and Homestead tan has a red and orange tinge. I have spent months researching the difference as I originally wanted the darker version on homestead tan. The bricks are now getting made in Sydney or another plant in order to keep up with the demand. The dirt they are using is much different to the original version. They anticipate that this colour discrepancy will be going on for 12 months. So be warned and ensure the colour that you have selected is accurate. I'll bring sammiches I liked this house a lot, but it was a bit more expensive than we wanted to spend, so we're building the Henley Ascot instead. My partner wanted the Waldorf I think purely because of Gossip Girl, but that's ok lol. I get to see my bricks soon (Austral Buckwheat). Re: Price of category 8 brick for Porter Davis Prestige 72Mar 15, 2011 8:47 am We were also going to go with Austral Newport, but went with Mushroom ($$ difference) Here is a pic of my bricks, which I must say I (and my DH) are completely happy with. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k18/becpee/IMG_1204-1.jpg For us the mortar is enough of a contrast with the bricks that you can actually tell they're bricks. We're really happy with them, and I think our brickies did a great job which also helps. The mortar has lightened even more now. Hi building1, Thanks for posting the pic of your bricks, they look We were also going to have the Newport bricks but changed to the Homestead Mushroom bricks with off white mortar for the same reason, $$$$!! Apparently, there is now a bit of an issue with them being much lighter and with less black specs in them. I just hope they turn out as lovely as yours have. mimi Re: Price of category 8 brick for Porter Davis Prestige 75Mar 15, 2011 9:54 am Lol I did say to her Henley have an Emporer house, which is close to the Empire.
