I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the cladding. And yes the walls will make the rumpus less dark. Nice view! We have the same brick colour, roof tiles, windows and gutters so great taste Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - electrical 488May 21, 2015 9:32 am clintdbhmmm the rumpus looks pretty dark You'll be fine Yeah, gotta agree here ... I had the same reservations, particularly as we've got no side windows in the kitchen/dining/lounge downstairs, just the full-length doors at the back (and with alfresco outside the doors). Looked really dark before the gyprock, but it's pretty light & airy now there are walls & they're painted. Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - electrical 490May 21, 2015 11:49 am thank you all for the reassurance with lighter walls = brighter interior re: Hebel equivalent .. it feels strong to walk on and no creaks nor does it feel airy ... but until insulation, plasterboard, carpets go in at this stage it is too hard to tell. as it is aerated concrete they "DO" break easily around the corners ... I'm looking forward to the fireplace and I think it was meant to be as the timing was quite spot on in terms of the building process. The frame work was put together just as the other carpentry was being completed, so yay to that! @DG85 - I haven't noticed a red tinge ... could be the lighting? you can have a look at my photos of the bricks before being cleaned and compare? Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - electrical 492May 21, 2015 1:56 pm DG85Will do deluded. Have u been given a rough hand over date? We are just behind u build progress wise hi DG85 .. no hand over date ... I'm keeping track via contractual completion and it is end of October or early November. Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - internals 493May 22, 2015 4:40 pm Everything that's got to do with internal seems so fast! ... not wanting to jinx myself .. the timing seems to be quite good. After getting the ok from SS I ventured into the house as I needed to double check the electrical work. The bricks were cleaned up yesterday which I knew about, but today it was water proofing wet areas, insulation had commenced and the plasterboards were delivered. needless to say there's activity all around! .... so... on with the show downstairs bathroom/powder room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ upstairs bathroom entry with a bit of the ensuite in the background (aerated concrete floor so it is fully sealed Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ view from the living room looking towards the kitchen, insulation is in Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ the dwarf wall looking on to the void windows and bedroom 3 ... as well as cavity for the ducting Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ rumpus room looking to the front door on the left Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ from the guest bedroom looking towards the kitchen Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ garage with all the gear Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ bricks are cleaned! .. What great timing on the fireplace! That is going to be such a feature in that space. Bricks have cleaned up well. Any update on the cladding? Have you chosen the paint colour? Re: Alkira Homes 498May 22, 2015 10:20 pm SheilzyWow wow wow! Look at all that progress. Your build has definitely kicked into gear now. What great timing on the fireplace! That is going to be such a feature in that space. Bricks have cleaned up well. Any update on the cladding? Have you chosen the paint colour? I actually didn't ask about the cladding I really love the brick work... really happy with the result. it is really moving very quickly from what I can tell. My guess is plasterboard will be complete by the end of next week and then another 2 weeks and kitchen goes in! Re: Alkira Homes "The Sienna" KDR Ryde (NSW) - internals 499May 22, 2015 10:26 pm I can't see why you can't have handover before October. There can't be 5 months of work left surely. Do you have flooring in the contract? Re: Alkira Homes 500May 22, 2015 10:30 pm SheilzyI can't see why you can't have handover before October. There can't be 5 months of work left surely. Do you have flooring in the contract? tbh ... items that I "believe" will slow it down is the painting. That void will be painful to paint. Flooring is included ... tiles from foyer through to kitchen, dining and the living room .. carpeting for "rooms" If all of the trades run back to back like it has been happening then it is very possible but I'm relying on forg's timeline as guidance. I am about the same time as his right now and he only got keys at the end of October .. I completely understand the concern about avoiding controversy, especially with client sensitivities involved. That said, given the structural risks and prior… 7 35001 Same, I worry that cladding/render will require some maintenance, and replacement eventually. Bricks will be the last standing component in a build. 2 7557 |
