So they must've done some work out there yesterday despite it raining there in the morning. Fingers crossed we get a slab today seeing as it's perfectly sunny today Our build: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=70584 Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 423Jul 14, 2015 9:34 am keep in mind the SS and the office pretty much work in silos. So any 'favours' you are doing or getting are kinda direct. At least that's what we found. Our build: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=70584 Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 425Jul 14, 2015 3:56 pm Got a call this morning from the Electrician today asking a few questions about switch heights, light types etc. Decided we'd meet him in his showroom in the next week to go through it all thoroughly instead. Super excited about this one. Just got a call from Baumont tiles to have our selections meeting. We'll go preview theirs and Di Lorenzo's before the appointment in two weeks time to decide which company we'll go with. We're very keen on underfloor heating so it will depend who offers it. (From Yvonne's experience it might be Di Lorenzo, plus we found their tile choice and set out better when we visited last year). The two silos operate very independently of each other in that the SS is pretty much tasked with just getting on and getting the job done. Yvonne is spot on - if you are looking for any favours, be nice to your SS as he will be the one most likely able to help you out with the little things. Big things like major design changes will have to go back to head office and then be passed back to the SS, but little things can be arranged directly by the SS. My DH turned up to our introduction site visit in his work uniform as he was working at the time. Turns out one of SS's best friends works in DH's station, and SS's brother works in the same line in another station, so lots in common. Also the SS is the region site manager who was meant to pass our job on to one of his staff but decided he'd take it himself as he has a couple others in nearby suburbs he was doing. So win win And yep we're definitely being very nice and cooperative with him. We feel we already owe him a few cartons for where he's gotten our job to so far Our build: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=70584 Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 429Jul 14, 2015 4:21 pm fab-o! Sounds like you are on a winner of an SS! Does your DH work with trains? Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 430Jul 14, 2015 4:30 pm Yvonne... Haha maybe... What makes you ask that?! Our build: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=70584 Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 433Jul 14, 2015 4:48 pm I think they will both offer underfloor heating. I just liked the colour combinations that Di lorenzo had already created. At BT you had to mix and m match your own as their suggested ones were usually discontinued or not in the builders range. Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 434Jul 22, 2015 11:21 am We went to both Di Lorenzo and Beaumont tiles yesterday. Both offer under tile heating and after looking at tile choices we've decided to go with Beaumont tiles. We picked some out though won't confirm them til we meet with the interior designed next week. Are you planning a slab party? Interesting you went with Beaumont Tiles. Can't wait till you share your selections Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 440Jul 22, 2015 12:31 pm Yay for a slab, what sort of price is the under floor heating? I don't know much about it other then it sounds like a fantastic idea especially with the cold mornings and nights atm.
