KEYS ON 5/11 AT 1PM Re: Our home with Ventura (WA) - stuffed up roof 422Jul 14, 2010 9:20 pm Thats what we we're thinking. But it looks like they've used the bright white as the underside..... and why does it look totally different to the surfmist houses in our street? I'm hoping when I go back in the morning and see it in proper lighting that it will be all fine, but it looked completly different hey... Because surfmist is quite white as you said. It was just an off cut you picked up and not a sheet There was a bit of a sheet left and we cut a bit off Building with Ventura homes (WA) Building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20516 Slab: 17/04/10, Bricking started: 12/05/10, Bricking finished: 2/06/10, Roof frame done: 11/06/10, Colorbond on: 14/07/10, Lock Up: 19/08/10, Cabinets: 25/08/10, Tiling done: 28/09/10, Electrical: 2/10/10, PCI: 29/10/10, Keys: 4/11/10 Re: Our home with Ventura (WA) - stuffed up roof maybe? :/ 425Jul 14, 2010 9:49 pm As I said, will go past in the morning and fingers crossed it was just the lighting or something this evening. Will let you know! Thanks for the idea trinity - if I'm still unsure tomorrow I'll do that. Thats a good idea. Do you have a stratco near you Kara, then you can take the bit you have and go in and ask them, even if it just ends up being peace of mind My building thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279 NEARLY DONE. KEYS ON 5/11 AT 1PM Re: Our home with Ventura (WA) - stuffed up roof maybe? :/ 427Jul 14, 2010 10:01 pm nah thats it canningvale, plus ventura's colorbond is spplied by BGC I'm pretty sure. Plus taking the sample in won't help us to work out for sure what way it has been laid. Maybe it has been laid bright side up and we just can't tell properly... argh doesn't look like it though. Really we need to get up on the roof with a spare peice to put that on the roof and see what side up it is. I sure hope they haven't stuffed up. The pictures you provided seem like the roof is not as "stark" as the Surfmist should be but as someone already said here, Colorbond changes with light. Our neighbour behind us has Colorbond and one minute it's so dark and the next it's bright. How do your internals look? Still damp? Luckily the weather isn't too bad. I hope so too phoenixrain. I agree it doesn't look at stark, but am confused because we know it changes in different lights. But even still, I thought surfmist always looked white, whereas last night our roof looked very blue/grey. Internals are soaked! It's like a little pool haha Ok so I went past this morning and it looks a lot better. I think it could be right, but I'm still not 100% sure. My lovely other half will get a ladder this afternoon to look at the sample on the roof so that we know for sure hahah Photos from this morning: It looks a lot whiter, but I know shale grey looks quite light when the sun is up too. hey camy, does this look the same as your roof, or does it look more like surfmist to you?? WooHOOO!!!! Surely it would be the right colour????? It does look different to ours but then again ours does look different depending on the light- we have quite a few different photos with the roof looking a different colour in each! Ours did seem quite "stark" in the beginning, but now seems slighter lighter- probably beacuse its dirty!!!!! lol :-0 Built "The Manor" with Ventura We have an ocean view....IF WE STAND ON OUR TIPPY TOES!! KEYS ON 5/11 AT 1PM Re: Our home with Ventura (WA) 438Jul 15, 2010 8:42 pm Ok, other half and his boss say it's definitely surfmist. Once the sun goes down though, even his boss agreed it looks totally blue! Must be something to do with the way we are facing or the lighting or something. Just hoping once the surfmist garage door is on, gutters etc painted, white windows in that maybe the roof with throw off more of a white colour. Oh well... I'm happy we have our hat at least!
