My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 42Sep 03, 2014 4:14 pm Hi there guys, has anyone had any issue with a solar setback, I'm only finding out about it now, pretty much they want me to be 2 meters away from my neighbour on the side or have obscure glass on my windows from 1650mm down if i want to stay at 1500mm.Seams really strange to me, doesn't quiet make sense. What exactly is the obscure glass going to block out, we can challenge by putting in an application to council but could delay build by 60days and cost extra in penalties. Any knowledge on the subject, my block is only 12.5 meters wide so a 2 meter setback on one side is pretty large. Cheers Damo Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 43Sep 03, 2014 5:07 pm Would that apply even if u have a fence? My Thread (Halls Head Beach House): viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67006 Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 46Sep 03, 2014 8:44 pm Damo, I didn't have this issue, but if you position your garage wall on the boundary line (like me)you get 2 meters on the other side of the house, my block is the same width as yours (I think), I don't think the block is wide enough to have 2 meters on both sides, your neighbour looks like he has positioned his house on the building line as well Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 47Sep 03, 2014 8:58 pm My garage on the left at the block will be right up against the neighbours, its on the right hand side of the block we having issues, and yes I'm aware, the house would literally not fit on the block as advertised. we literally had to choose between obscure glass, planning application or making the house half a meter narrower Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 48Sep 04, 2014 10:26 pm Wow, I'm glad I'm the first to build, good luck with your decision, I think I would be going to council, obscure glass on that side of the house is going to look awful. Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 49Sep 04, 2014 10:36 pm Going to council with a $1000 application fee, a 60 day wait where we will continue to pay for the land as well as rent, no guarantee that it would be approved and an increase in the actuall build price all seamed a bit excessive for the sake of two pains of glass that I can apply to have changed later Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 50Sep 05, 2014 12:05 pm Good point, once it's built & signed off, change the glass, who's going to know & it's going to be a lot cheaper than the $1000 fee, my slab has been down for 4 weeks now and still no sign of brikkies, they did start on another block today, not happy, thought I was first grrrrrrrrrr.................. Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 51Sep 05, 2014 12:21 pm That makes sense, it'd be much easier to do a planning app once ur in the house. I was at your block yesterday, stopped in on my way back from the airport, I'd be going mad if I was you right now, I'm sure I have already upset everyone involved with my build due to my impatience haha. How would you go with nominating your own brickie team? To late to try that?? Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 53Sep 05, 2014 9:17 pm Damo B Yeah that's what I was thinking. I was at your block yesterday, stopped in on my way back from the airport, I'd be going mad if I was you right now, I'm sure I have already upset everyone involved with my build due to my impatience haha. How would you go with nominating your own brickie team? To late to try that?? I mailed BT today with my displeasure, they claim my brikkies are due to start next week, still no reason why the brikkies at the other block weren't on my block first, another poster building with another builder have nominated there own brikkie with some success, so if you know one and he's free get him nominated, too late for me & I don't know any brikkies Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 54Sep 27, 2014 4:30 pm Damo B Yeah that's what I was thinking. Hey Damo, what's that I see on your block..........................oh it's a slab, conslabulations me thinks Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 56Sep 27, 2014 7:17 pm No, they just gathering dust on my slab Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 57Sep 27, 2014 7:23 pm Oh no. That's not good. I know there's supposedly a shortage of brickies but telling you next week to pacify you, especially if they couldn't do, it is naughty. Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 58Sep 27, 2014 7:34 pm oncewerefurriers Oh no. That's not good. I know there's supposedly a shortage of brickies but telling you next week to pacify you, especially if they couldn't do, it is naughty. Oh don't worry, I let them know my thoughts, the brikkie apparently injured himself, so he's been off work for a couple of weeks, I have now been told next week, but I'm not holding my breath, however another BT build over the road who was a week behind me got a brikkie in 3 weeks, so it's not what you know, it's who you know. I have just been refreshing my memory on your build & timeline in disbelief, since slab down for you it's been over 12 months, is there light at the end of the tunnel for you. Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 59Sep 27, 2014 7:44 pm It's 13 months next week. However, we're getting closer. We got the invoice for practical completion (which was dated the 31st of August) yesterday. No actual date for PCI. There are still quite a few things to be fixed but most things are finished to some extent. Re: Ben Trager Sunshine Burns Beach Build 60Sep 27, 2014 8:18 pm Invoice for PCI? Shouldnt they have everything done for PCI before they invoice? *scratching head* Our build thread [url]https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=71492/url] Prestart: 18/7/14 Final plans: 13/8/14 Building permit: 30/9/14 Thank you so much everyone.
