I forgot to ask you if you ended up going with the gloss white overhead cupboards??
Are they in a painted gloss finish like 2pac or is it something else?
mimi
Hi Mimi,
Can't remember if i got back to you on this one...we ended up doing the glossy overhead cupboards...its the diamond gloss polar white laminate.
I really can not wait for my kitchen! now the demolishers are delaying our demoliton to mid march! i so hope it doesn't interfere too much with our site start
Have you guys started yet?
We are also building a waldorf 44
We have our colour & electrical appointments next week and was hoping if anyone can give us a price list of the upgrades like using diamond gloss laminates & timber look garage and any pointers on what things we need to look out for?
thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Waldorf club Puppyso!
Ooh i changed my mind about the diamond gloss laminate. When we had our colour selection last week, we ummed and ahhed about what the laminates upstairs would be. So then we were shown the diamond gloss laminate sample in licorice linea (and told that it would wear a lot better than natural finish!) and of course the girl in me goes ooh i want that one on the day. Well i can tell you now that i didn't want that one when at contract signing the price came back that to diamond gloss just the upstairs it would be over $4500!!!!! I nearly fell off my chair and when our CSC went out of the room for a moment Rob and I very quickly decided that as we were upgrading the laminate tops to Caeserstone (at about $210 each ensuite for all you crazy Waldorf kids out there ) we don't need the glossy finish (and i would much rather spend that $4500 on buying furniture for my house!) so we scrapped that idea.
Can't help you out with the timber look Pup as we just took the contemporary in paperbark but if i recall and if someone can correct me, my brother built from the access range and his cost him an extra $700 or so. I could be wrong though.
Good luck with your colour and electricals this week! I PM'd you some more pricings etc that we did at ours.
Cheers,
Mel
Sorry guys, I was confused. We're building the Waldorf 48, not 44.
Were you charged 210 for each caesarstone benchtop for the upstairs ensuites? We were quoted $340 each and $660 for the guest ensuite downstairs (extension). We decided against it (just upgraded the sink to Valentino stepped) as it was too costly but we would definitely have gotten it for $210. Surely, there's not that big a difference in size between the Waldorf 44 and 48 ensuite bench size??? Jess, please clarify. What edge did you get for the caesarstone?
With the diamond gloss, I was told that PD no longer does it. Oh well, not like I would have gotten it for that much anyway. I figured we are better off using the standard for now and changing the doors in a few years when we get sick of it. And it'd still be cheaper.
Hi JPZ, By memory yes it was for each ensuite BUT now that i think of it i'll have to double check if it was the reconstituted stone bench top or if it was in fact caeserstone (there is a difference? i am now second guessng myself...lol) The powder room we left as is (no extension) as it comes with the promo but we added in a proper cabinet vanity with cupboard rather than the boxed in look. Without having an actually plan i would think there would be minimal change in room size in the ensuites. We took the square edge. I joke with Rob that the only curvy thing in our house is ME!!! lol....
I had never considered doing the laminate cabinets in anything but the natural finish then when we were discussing what to do at colour selection, because we hadn't truly come up with a definite idea on how we wanted the bathroom cabinets, we asked about the gloss finish (as we needed to ask as well about our overhead cabinets). We decided, oh well do it all in gloss but then when it came back at nearly $5k i said to Rob just leave the overheads and the rest can be natural finish. She said the only one not available in gloss was the burnished wood thats why we chose the licorice linea instead for the bathrooms. But now everything is in burnished wood. And yes i agree with you, in five or ten years time when we want to change we can do it at a much cheaper
Did i read that you are building in Berwick? We're in FTG. Have you guys commenced your building yet?
