Sales guy said we can expect with a couple of weeks, would be nice to know what is being done and what is left to be done. We are changing bricks, bathroom laminate, laminate to island bench kick board. There the main things we are changing. Cat do you know which company did your insulation? Sekisui now use silestone for there stone benches so have changed to the new range, which worked out cheaper then our previous caeserstone choices. Sekisui also no longer use beaumont tiles and now use dons tiles. I asked Hayley why the change, and they said that they have found the workmanship through dons better, bet it has more to do with price though. As long as my tilers are done properly don't really care where they come from. I heard from our CSO earlier this week our plans have stamped by hunter water board and conditional approval by the mines subsidence board. We are now waiting for draftsman to finish with our final plans and our structural plans have been ordered and the plans have been sent to the certifier for CDC. So now we wait. But hopefully not too long Building a sekisui house in Holmesville NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75060 Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 244Jan 07, 2016 1:29 pm Here are photos of our selections Kitchen The wood look laminex is for the island kick board only. So that works as a pretty good deterrent. Hope all goes well on your build. We haven't been advised on the change of suppliers for the stones and tiles. We have in our contract caesarstones on all of our benchtops, kitchens, and toilets hopefully they won't change that. Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 252Jan 21, 2016 2:28 pm The colour consultant said that if you have been shown caeserstone you can still use caeserstone but for all new builds they are only given the option of silestone. Have you done your tiles selections? Have you done your tiles selections? Oh ok that's a relief.. No, I have been asking them since we got the DA when will the selection take place but have been advised not until the slab was poured. No biggie if Dons have nice range like Beaumont, tho we have unofficial visits to Beaumont and have selected the tiles we like. Re: Building a Sekisui house Now Holmesville 254Jan 21, 2016 9:10 pm We are hoping to pay dons a visit this weekend, I have been once before but hubby hasn't been at all. We had visited beaumont before and found some nice tiles just hope we can find something we like. Looking forward to your file tile choices ![]() Thanks cat I really can't wait to see it all come together. However feel like things are moving slowly. Received a phone call at the end of last week to say that they will not allow us to install solar hot water after handover, they provided us with rheem and rinnai models that they have pricing for however they don't rate well on further research. So now have decided to go continous hot water with LPG tanks, which will be cheaper which is one positive and doesn't use electricity at all. We are yet to know when site start will be, we are still waiting for final pricing to come through and unsure where we are in the CDC queue. Maybe I will know more by the end of the week. Didn't really get anywhere close to picking bathroom and laundry tiles, however did find another wood look tile hubby and i both really like. I will put a photo up showing previous tile we where looking at. What are people thoughts on lighter vs darker tile? As for progress from sekisui not much change, we are now going LPG instantaneous hot water as sekisui wouldn't allow us to install solar after handover with only the provision to be installed during construction. Didn't like solar models sekisui wanted us to choose from so we changed to gas. No word on CDC or the final pricing, just want something to move forward.
