How nice to look forward to your slab in the new year- what a nice start!! Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 171Dec 12, 2015 3:04 pm That's exciting, once you are out of admin, everything goes very quickly. Slab for the new year will be a nice start Our building journey viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77582 Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 172Dec 14, 2015 12:44 pm The OH doesn't seem to be as excited as me! Maybe he will be more excited once he sees something happening. Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 173Dec 14, 2015 12:45 pm Just wondering if anyone has suggestions on Building Inspectors, and what they recommend for which stage of the build is most important to have them inspect? Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 174Dec 14, 2015 7:33 pm Congrats on getting a slab date! My earthworks are booked for the 6th Jan and slab for 12th Jan so we will be neck and neck I'm going to use Arrow point inspections for slab stage/roof frame/PCI and they are charging approx $450 for each one My build with FHBD viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78344 Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 175Dec 14, 2015 7:57 pm I used Houspectbut they use different inspectors depending on the location, so I can't reference them, but ours seemed good. I did slab, plate height and roofing as to me the structural things are important. I will think about pci, but probably not, depends if I'm home or not. The only other one I'd like to witness is waterproofing but that is just me being pedantic I'll just have to trust the builder on that one. Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 176Dec 15, 2015 11:15 am Thanks Daz and Decka for the info! I have got quotes from a few inspectors, so will compare them and let everyone know what we decide to do. I prob need to decide soon if slab is going down on the 13th Jan! Re: K & L's HGWA Build Baldivis 178Dec 15, 2015 3:11 pm MrsMaccaPacca Just had an email from HGWA and earthworks are due to commence 8th Jan. We missed out on a December slab by one week. Oh well! It will be a great start to the new year!! If we make it by the end of January our builds should chug along at about the same time.
