Our cso came back and said no problem! Built the Seaview 36 with Rawson Homes - Read about it on my blog http://lamaisondemorgan.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2910Apr 18, 2013 5:58 am Congrats Tondar on the birth of your baby boy. He is a long man. Mine were 47.5 and 50.5cm Glacier go back to your colour consultant and get the extras added. We got our upper cupboard lights added when we did our internal selections. We were asked at electrical if we wanted a PowerPoint on the island but declined it Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2911Apr 18, 2013 7:21 am Thanks guys. I'm going to go back to my CSO and go from there. I hope it all gets sorted out. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2912Apr 18, 2013 8:17 am I actually am now at the point of getting my battens that Rawson installed changed over to downlights this weekend. All up as a guide, my electrician is charging $15 a point, and my downlights inc driver were $40 each, and the batten charge from YHC I think was $50 so $105 all up. YHC were offering to install LED for us for $137 each so saved $1,600 for the 50 lights, and have probably a chosen a better quality light. Our plans say 1m wide, but what the gyprockers put in is barely 70cm. I've notified our SS, so hopefully it gets fixed soon. Any tips on time frames from here? Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2916Apr 18, 2013 9:04 pm Our SS finally said we are on the home run today!! The main floor tiles were laid today, electricians installed all of the Power Points and our Hills Home Hub. The Plumbers will be there tomorrow and he said we should be able to do a PCI in 2 weeks. We are getting so close and it looks like I might get to have Mothers Day in our new house I just need to find out when our driveway and letterbox will be going in. Only expect what is specified in your contract! R are very busy at the moment and does not look likely to let up. If you go on your contract you will not be disappointed. Anything under is a bonus. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2918Apr 18, 2013 10:23 pm MelC Our SS finally said we are on the home run today!! We are getting so close and it looks like I might get to have Mothers Day in our new house I just need to find out when our driveway and letterbox will be going in. That is good news! The end is in sight and within grasp. I drove past the other day Mel and had a gander at your door (& garage one too). It is great they they were able to get them soooo close. We originally wanted the timber look but everything we saw in metal just had the orange tinge to it in direct sunlight. The actual timber one we could not justify the cost on sadly. Anyway, we are satisfied with the one we put in (surfmist - to match our cladding). We were advised today that the painters should be starting next week. Based on what I am reading and hearing about the painters, my expectations are quite low... The end is approaching for us too. Can't wait to be able to bring the little one home from hospital and be able to set up his new room in our new home (soon). Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2919Apr 19, 2013 6:38 am Tondar I loved bringing my babies home from the hospital - when are you leaving hospital? I told our SS from our first meeting before we even turned dirt that I am very fussy on the painting. Thankfully we have the best team of painters that Rawson have up here. Hopefully should alleviate some problems. Sheridanbenjamin - with Rawson what Tondar said is very true. Rawson is flat out at the moment. My advise is to keep on top of your CSO. From day 1 when I spoke to mine I asked for a date of when the check plans were coming, close to that date I rung to confirm they would be ready. I did that for every sep of the way. Get a date and get them to stick to it. Saves you being lost in the crowd. Try to stay patient. It is a long roller coaster ride. Where are you building? What design? Rental inspection today. Thankfully I can cross this off as the last time I will ever have to do one of these. When we had the consultancy they weren't very helpful, well maybe that's a bit harsh....they were certainly not forthcoming with questions and suggestions and when asked for example about features of the alarm system, they had little idea! Remember they do this for lots of other builders too, so it's not really a perfect Rawson fit. They didn't even have the latest amended plans for us at the time. Don't know whose fault that was, but whatever....lol hope it all gets sorted. Tondar congratulations ! What a perfect start for the new home! Wonderful news. Koroboo- Obviously the tilers must have been watching Austin Powers and when they tiled your shower, one of them said, I shall call this ' 'Mini Niche' I'm sure they will fix it up. Mel C - Wish we got swap, do you want our house because I'm far too impatient to get to wait til we reach your stage with ours! Congratulations btw. SheridanBenjamin-It's not so much Rawson being busy, most builders are. If you turn on the radio here in Sydney, it's hard to not hear a radio ad for one of the builders including Rawson and with the interest rates being so low and project builders making it so easy to get packages and having such a vast range of houses and floor plans , everyone wants to build NOW it seems. Truth of it is, they all take 10-14 months from tender stage to handover, everyone has either slow admin, slow councils, close construction, bad weather, holidays or whatever. The good news is Rawson is in my humble opinion, without a doubt only 1 of 3 companies that are excellent value for money and have more inclusions and upgrade pack items than anyone else. We researched this extensively before we signed. AND no matter how much everyone whinges and whines on here or anywhere else online, everyone seems to end up with a superbly finished house (unlike other horror stories, just visit product review and type in some builders OMG) So I'm sure you'll be in good hands. What and where are you building? I may have missed that....? Case in point, I met our site supervisor for the first time today and biy, he has his s..t together and what a nice guy. Our brickwork is complete and the roof is going on Tuesday/ Wednesday. When I mentioned that the bricks look good ( then again what would I know lol) when he informed me that Riussel ( whom I had met last week) and his brickies do all the Rawson Display Homes in Sydney - WOW! So obviously the standard of our brickwork must be pretty high, one would think..... About to upload some new photos from today on our blog. Jen- how are things going? It's all coming together now, hey?
