We are nearly finished our build & we have never had a complaint about quality. The brick layers took a lot longer but they did a fantastic job. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2892Apr 16, 2013 8:03 pm I'm very glad to hear that you are happy with the quality if your builds Mel and Mrs Bigted. We were hoping to be in by Xmas, but I think that's out the window now. I'd prefer quality rather than rushing to be in by Xmas. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2893Apr 16, 2013 8:13 pm Munchi - you will have the same SS that I have and tarsha had as well. Tarshas was handed over in 32 weeks. We will be closer to 40 weeks, but we are considerably bigger than Tarshas house. I don't want to put a dampener on it, but I don't think that Christmas is achievable at this stage. We wanted to bein by April, but would rather s better build. Love your front door, it matches your garage door perfectly!! Munchi- I feel your pain!! The admin process is so frustrating. I hope your bank issue gets sorted ASAP. Tondar- Good luck with the baby, hope it all goes well. Jen- No good about migraines, get them myself, wouldn't wish them in worst enemy. I have found acupuncture to be extremely effective. An update with us, Rawson said they expect to go to site in 2 weeks. That would be great if it actually happens but latest problem we have is with demolition company, they haven't been turning up!! We were booked in tues after Easter and we aren't anywhere near a total block clear!! The worst part is they haven't even had the decency to contact us and let us know!! We had the pool booked in for Monday just gone and if it hadn't been for our neighbor telling us that they hadn't turned up we would have had the pool place turn up with the pool. We have since had to change pool appointment twice, demolition have until fri to @ least have a place for pool to b stored as pool company need to drop it off. Feel terrible stuffing around pool place. Arghhhh, is very frustrating!! If only people would just do what they are being paid to do when they say they are going to, it would save a lot of stress!! It is definitely not how a business should be run, I won't be recommending them!! Hope the rain stays away this week for everyone : ) Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2895Apr 17, 2013 9:29 am Bailey I am sorry. Do you have the peoples mobile number? I have it if you want to give them a call. We have never had any problem with them and that is why I passed on their details to you. Someone decided that they would have a look at our house last night. They have gotten bogged in the driveway and have made a mess of the driveway getting them selves out and their little trail of mud has been carried all the way up the road. Have put a call into the SS as we are desperate for gravel to cover the driveway, but also to get it locked up asap. Thankfully nothing was taken or damaged Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2896Apr 17, 2013 11:00 am Please don't be sorry Jen, not your fault. We have got their mobile no but can never seem to get into the worker, just admin. Haven't been to house today yet, I'm not game to. Just hoping they are there!! Not good about your visitors, glad nothing was taken. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2897Apr 17, 2013 12:07 pm Thats no good Jen, I dont understand random people just thinking they can walk in or loiter around a house half built... In our estate apparently security drives around to ensure this doesnt happen but I have never seen them! Not much happening at our end. The brickies seem to have gone MIA. Frames were completed over 2 weeks ago, our SS told us our bricks wud be done this week (I didnt believe that anyway) but thats not happening because they have only laid one course around the whole house in the past 2 weeks. Also bricks have been sitting there for that long now. Houses around us which started 2 weeks after us are now at the same stage as us. Anyway.. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 2898Apr 17, 2013 1:06 pm S36 - I dont understand people either. It would never cross my mind to enter someones building site - too bad they didnt get stuck, that might have been a bit more interesting this morning. Our brickies went AWOL as well. They were there for over a month, but actually bricking for 15 days. We would have been finished with the bricks a lot quicker if they had shown up. On our front, we have had gyprockers in and done the first rough set throughout the house, now it needs sanding, finishing and gap filling where there's gaps against the floor slab in places. Should have brickies back tomorrow to finish up our internal 2 step and a row of finishing bricks under the stacker door. Noticed that they've used an OLD plan for the alarm wiring, and have stuck one of the sensors in the wrong spot. Lastly, noticed that the ensuite shower niche is too short, it's marked on the plan as 1000x300x70, but it's anything but 1000mm long - more like 60-70. They will cover them with the skirting boards. I may be wrong. Your build is going at a cracking pace Koroboo.
