They sold the house because their winter electricity bills were killing them. Their walls had a rating of around R 4.5, ceilings R 5.0. Underfloor heating is a nice concept but very expensive to run unless you have a good bank of solar panels to offset the cost. Ask your friends what their quarterly bills are.
