Under sink cabinets

I have noticed there is a lot of exposed raw MDF under the kitchen cabinets from where they have drilled to allow pipes and things. Should these edges be sealed?

I would think that it does require the edges to be sealed as there would likely be moisture and condensation under the sink. Is there a standard I could point my builder too?

Thank you
There are standards for kitchen cabinets in wet areas. Generally, all penetrations should be sealed with a waterproofing compound.
