There is one last thing to do on my house which was completed in June last year, but I am having a bit of a dilemma trying to work out the best way to approach this.
close to the boundary I have the garage wall which is rendered, this run for approx 6 meters and as you can see from the photo the garage has been cut into the block. Leaving the surrounding ground level approx 500mm higher. My initial thoughts were to put a retaining wall as close as possible to the fence, but I am not sure this is possible as telephone and power runs pretty close to this (you can see the switch board and telstra connection at top of photo) preventing me from digging in this area.
It was suggested to me that I could just fill in this area with gravel/soil and slope it away from the garage wall with appropriate drainage, plastic protection against wall etc.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this ? or any other solutions ?
