Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Nov 21, 2013 10:55 pm I am trying to decide on what colour frames to use for my windows. We have chosen to use the Rylock Aluminium double glazed architectural series, and they have 24 colour options. I was thinking of trying to match the window frames to the house exterior, however my wife is happy to use the standard silver galaxy colour option. Is there any opinions / rules which I should tryu to apply when making this decision? Thanks. Re: Colour of window frames 2Nov 22, 2013 5:01 am 2 rules 1 It's common to match the gutter & facia. 2 It's also normal to do whatever you like. Silver is a popular colour in the "do what you like area". Have a look how certain coloured frames look with the exterior colours you have already chosen (garage door, roof colour, door colour, paver colour).... also consider that you will be able to see the frames inside the house, especially on windows that don't have treatments - but also when window treatments are open. Re: Colour of window frames 4Dec 16, 2013 7:02 pm It depends on personal preferences. But I suggest to use lighter colors as it looks great. Thanks Re: Colour of window frames 5Dec 22, 2013 4:06 pm I personally prefer black but it depends on what the rest of your colours are. I ended up going to Houzz and searching for 'black windows' in order to confirm I liked the look both from inside and out. For your reference Performance Labels: Window assemblies in housing, except timber windows, must be labelled so the label can be seen when it is in situ. For timber… 6 7731 That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 17888 |
