Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jan 20, 2010 11:44 pm Any suggestions for places to get ideas for colour's for bathroom's? I have hit google, but seem to be getting a lot of 'before' pictures, and also the high end luxury bathrooms, same in the couple of magazines that I have bought - for as beautiful as some of them are, with three boy's, two large dog's and a husband who loves his dirt bike, I need something a little more practical. Also, the bathrooms in our house will be smallish so don't want anything to big and flashy that overtakes the rest of the room. I feel like I am hitting my head against a brick wall getting the laundry and bathroom's colour selections done for our house that we are building so could really use a prod in the right direction! That can make a difference. Sometimes I forget and wonder why I'm not getting the sorts of results I expected. Real estate websites can be good. Here's a link to the new suburbs on our local website, I often drool over it. http://www.allhomes.com.au/ah/act/sale- ... n/11245110 Re: Websites / magazines for bathroom ideas? 3Jan 21, 2010 12:17 am I think Better Homes & Gardens does a Bathroom magazine?? Don't be put off by pictures of "high end" bathrooms. Small and practical can still be absolutely beautiful. No need for fussy features, just stick with modern streamlined surfaces - a touch of natural stone (or a tile or laminate lookalike) adds a luxury look but should still give you easy to clean surfaces. I have no idea what your taste is, or what look you're going for, but these are gorgeous and would still be entirely practical to use and clean: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ There are some nice ideas here too: http://www.spaced.com.au/bathroom-design-ideas/ Check out a Reece or other bathroom showroom for more ideas - raid their brochures too, those often have inspirational ideas. Re: Websites / magazines for bathroom ideas? 5Jan 22, 2010 9:02 pm I love that magazine Kek. I also have a few copies of "modern home" which is great. I find websites of display homes really useful too, and have spent many a happy evening comparing laminate and tiles! Most of the products/furnishings in there are within the average budget. Re: Websites / magazines for bathroom ideas? 10Jan 26, 2010 12:38 pm Thanks for the replies! We ended up going fairly basic colour's - it's only a smallish bathroom so wanted it to keep fairly simple, so we picked charcoal floor tiles (300x300 for the floor in the bathrooms and laundry and 200x200 in the shower's) the wall tiles are Classic Carrara White 200x400 - sort of like this... As for the vanity, we didn't have a lot of choices in the colour selection for the vanity, so we decided on Laminex white with this benchtop Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I was hoping for a darker vanity cabinet, but they only had browns, not grey's and I really like that benchtop.
