i'm at the point of tiling the bathroom walls and floor. i'm wondering if i need to prep the walls (villa board/cement sheet) with anything before tiling. i have used davco k10 plus and fibreglass to waterproof a few corners alongside the bath but wasn't sure whether i should coat the walls and floor (concrete slab) too? i'm having the tiles laid professionally so i gather he knows which adhesive to use for the surfaces etc. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks nathan Re: sealing villa board??? 2Apr 07, 2007 9:50 pm [quote="sparky"]hi everyone,

If you're getting the tiles professionally laid, they should be using quality cement/glue and that is prep enough for any tiling. The only qualification to that is the application of a waterproof membrane before you laid the cement sheet. I'm not sure if this is a requirement with a concrete slab, but no doubt someone will be able to answer that one. I'm in the middle of tiling too, and doing it myself, but on a wooden floor, so the waterproof membrane under the cement sheet is a must. If all you can see are obstacles, you have lost sight of the goals Hi all. I'm thinking of installing an electric gate in front of this street front villa (link below).
