Hi. My downstairs shower had a metal enameled pan for many years, but a few months ago it developed a rust spot, which became a hole. So I ripped it out. When I say "ripped", I mean I had to break away tiles and part of the fibro wall, and generally make a mess. But I got it out. This is what I found:

So I dug away all that crumbled concrete and rotted timber, and found the drain, which was this single bit of pipe sticking up, connected to the big drain which goes outside obviously, (you can tell I'm not a professional plumber, eh..)

As you can see it's an older style drain, with the "receiver" pipe set into an eccentric plate that can be turned slightly to position it properly for the pan drain fitting. (Hope I'm making sense here....)
I bought a new pan, and began the job, but quickly realised that I had absolutely no idea how to get the eccentric pipe lined up with the new pan, and glue it in afterwards! How on earth is that done?? I mean, I know I can rotate the thing to make it fit the new pan, but aren't all those pvc fittings supposed to be glued?? How can I do that?
Any help will be very much appreciated! Thanks.
