No need for the channel on the floor. Not sure why I was thinking about putting the U channel prior to water proofing, quite silly actually! What did you use to glue down the U channel? Or did you just use silicon? Would there be any issues if I still put U channel on the floor as well? I used silicon. No real issues if you put a U channel on the floor other than the extra cuts for the tiles. After doing 10 of them I personally would use U channel on the floor.
