Cost of refrigerated cooling and heating

Hello folks,

My builder verbally mentioned that cost of referigerated cooling and heating will cost us $18k. Isn't this excessive?? Even with few zones it sounds bit of rip off. Can anyone comment on this please from your experience..

Thanks
There is a sub forum called Heating, Cooling & Insulation.

Probably a good idea to read the sticky below.

It really depends on the unit, KW and brand. Some people pay a lot more and some pay less
Sounds high as I got brivis top of the range heating six star with 4 zones and 17 kw actron aircon 4 zones for 13900, this was the dearest quote but best Iinstaller with best materials used.
I got a 21kw actron add on unit and a breamar heater all installed for 12k. 4 zones.
Large builder that price seems fair. Would be a fairly large system
thanks will check it out further to see what's on offer for such price..
I am using two Actron 17kw and its about 38K. 18K seems pretty good.....
It may sound a bit expensive but I've seen much pricier refrigerated cooling and heating. My advise is to check out other available models/units near your location to make sure that you get your money's worth if your spending budget will be around that figure.
