I'm looking at espaliering a fig against a brick wall (slatted cover, so worst of summer sun is shaded, whilst allowing full winter sun) on my deck (Hebel, due to fire requirement).
Can anyone suggest a good way to attach horizontal SS cables to the wall (I'll need at least 2 horizontal cables I think, one for the initial horizontal branch, and another further up to train the verticals), whilst keeping between 10-15cm away from the wall, and also looks good.
FWIW, the fig is in a large planter, but I don't think the planter is strong enough to support a trellis.
