Maybe get a tradie in? Bottom line is you have to get into the attic space, and make a decision where to cut, then mark it out. It will be easier to use a saw up there too, instead of cutting from underneath. Size wise , 450 - 600mm is ok. you dont need a kit, some 4x2 nogging and some moudling for the interior side is all you need. None taken. I only say it because of other things currently happening that are more important than spending money on getting someone in to fix a leak. Got to get my priorities in order so I'm not wasting money where it's not needed.
