CuttingEdge is that brushed aluminium laminate or actual aluminium? And whichever it is does anyone know where I can get it in Brisbane? I want to do this asap It is brushed aluminium laminate. Re: Brushed Stainless Steel Kickplate? 16Sep 07, 2007 12:01 pm great thanks just wanted to clarify that.
can anyone recommend a good place to get it around brisbane, is it just the laminex range and I can get it from their factory outlet at Murrarie? and how do you apply it? Is it just liquid nailed in place? sorry for the novice questions............ Re: Brushed Stainless Steel Kickplate? 17Sep 07, 2007 2:50 pm Yes the laminex range has a number of different types of metal laminates. They are more expensive than how I buy it. I purchase it from a supplier in a 150mm wide roll perfect for kickboards.
Liquid nails is without doubt the wrong way of fixing it. The laminate is only 0.7mm thick so if there is a lump of glue behind it shows up like Fred Nile at the mardi gras. You should use a contact adheasive that is applied to both surfaces allowed to almost dry and then placed together. Re: Brushed Stainless Steel Kickplate? 19Sep 13, 2007 10:59 am here is a link to a product similar to the roll described earlier
