My house was built 5 years ago by major builder and have had many issues with the house ranging from sewer pipes, to plaster work a number of months ago i noticed some cracking grout in my shower tiling which i was going to repair as i started to scrape out some old grout which revealed spacers between the tiling Now i have done a reasonable amount of tiling myself over the years and never left in spacers and according to the australian standard when the house was built it states that spacers should be removed prior to grouting unless the spacer is specifically designed to be left in, i have checked several manufacturers if spacer all of which write that the spacer must be removed prior to grouting. I have been on the builders back about what they intend on doing as the tiling has not been done to the AS and am now being told to show them were the defects are at each corner i have told them if they wish for me to scrape out every single corner of each tile i am glad to, to expose each and every spacer if i dont then they do not see the tiling as a problem. Should i go ahead and show them every single spacer or should they have the decency to realize the tiling has been done incorrectly and relay it all. Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 8098 Hi, I'm clearing the tiles from our horrid 50 year old bathroom and preparing to lay new ones. Bugger of a job getting the old… 0 8277 4 15014 |
