Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 02, 2025 1:03 am Hello all I have a 13-year old first-floor balcony deck, and three of the posts supporting the balustrade are coming apart right down the middle. (I am attaching two pics, which are of the opposite sides of the same post.) It almost looks like each post is actually two lengths of timber glued together, and the two lengths are coming apart. Is it possible the posts were constructed that way?? Otherwise they are splitting incredibly neatly and uniformly! I tried to glue the two halves back together (clamping the post), but they've come apart again after less than a year. Is this something that needs fixing from a structural standpoint? And how? Or do the posts need to be replaced entirely? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hi!
