Seeking some advice on whether to direct stick engineered timber floors vs floating installation. The subfloor is new construction yellow tongue particleboard.
I am concerned about the sound and feel of floating floors but I dont have a way to test out this comparison.
Looking for recommendations.

Thanks Hi Randoss If you are worried about sound 100000000000% ( hope that is enough zeros to make my point) you need to go with a floating floor with a good acoustic quality underlay. As I am sure you understand, direct stick means you are gluing the boards directly to your subfloor with nothing in between other than glue. A floating floor allows you to have an acoustic underlay which prevents sound transmitting. There are various types and levels of quality, but the good ones work well. Cheers Simeon Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure if this is really a valid concern on say a 14mm engineered timber board? Certainly easier and cheaper to do floating.  MichelleHi, Yes it's a big question.
