Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 18, 2022 1:51 pm In my saga to have my backfill excavated and besser block wall waterproofed I have now come across another question... I have weep holes every 2m at the base of the first course (basically just above the footing) When I eventually turf my yard, these weep holes will basically be covered by ~50mm soil/grass. For waterproofing I want to run a bond breaker mesh on the cove joint which is hard to do due to the holes on the backside of the wall every 2 metres. I cannot imagine creating a perfect membrane or gap filled seal around the poorly cut openings in the base of the block with tight access. There is a constant trickle from these weep holes even in dry conditions probably due to neighbours irrigation. I have 100mm socked ag-pipe, geotech etc behind wall. My waterproofer and I have been discussed following : try a higher level of gravel under future top soil adjacent to wall, have the weepholes exiting here rather than in the body of the soil. Add Drainage pit(s) to help divert the water away from surface near weep holes Remove weep holes and plug with mortar/structural grout. The Ag-pipe drainage sufficient. Run bond breaker mesh on cove joint and waterproof along the footing junction complete. Anyone out there with besser block core filled walls that can chime in? Thanks it depends on the natural ground level, if they excavated their boundary wall needed to be built as a retaining wall. If you filled, which sounds like the case then you… 1 7569 I know foam has been around since the 90's and CSR started manufacturing Hebel in 1989, so it's definitely possible 5 6153 You are correct. Just read through all the ncc rules and 75mm is the minimum requirement for me. 4 11947 |
