Amazing what we can do with something bits and pieces laying around the place Ahhh yes. I'm wrong again I was thinking of a building permit........VP listen to Kek about this sort of stuff not me she has better knowledge. S'land must be in a hurry to get out of H/stowe! I was told all would be done in MV by 2012, or is that when S'land is leaving........? Stages here are also selling very quickly. Another 6 blocks were released on Masons Rd last week. I'd love to know what they are going for now. Good to see things progressing, the sooner they build the new releases the quicker they get out and leave us alone to live here quietly. I haven't heard a digger for a few weeks now but there are still mountains of dirt and rock and rubbish behind me. I think the first street running parallel to B.I Rd is ready, pegs are done and cross overs are in. I drove through H'stowe a couple of weeks ago, I was surprised to see the new stage in the East complete and houses already up! Happy at Home Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 1422Dec 07, 2009 9:13 pm I think my family would be the ones on the right! My kids love driving around looking at the Christmas lights. Christmas night is generally the best time for us, when we're driving home from Christmas dinner. H2B, Happy Birthday for last week! Hope you had a good day. And thanks for the comment on my bricks. I'm happy with the way they look now they are cleaned. An impromptu decision that worked! Your frame looks great; very creative. Congrats on the land settlement, Venga Palace. Stages here are also selling very quickly. Another 6 blocks were released on Masons Rd last week. I'd love to know what they are going for now The terms of the planning permit state that Sland have to maintain all the public spaces for two years after they're complete - that would mean they'll still have some responsibility after the final lots are sold ....they're certainly in a rush now though. Nice to see parkland being developed here - it's been a while since they've done anything along those lines. Land seems to sell really fast in both estates, which is good news for those interested in land values. I saw a block 40m2 smaller than ours and quite a bit closer to the railway reserve listed at $190,000 a couple of weeks ago. That puts ours in the $200K vicinity - we only paid $165K. I'm happy with that increase in value, especiallyconsidering the economic situation. My husband rode his bike to work in the city today. In this rain. He's clearly lost his mind. Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 1425Dec 08, 2009 8:41 am Congrats Venga! I got caught in the rain, I was drenched just crossing the road (got the red man and had to wait). Well this is the latest update emailed to me by the builder "Congratulations, your file is now ready to go to site, you will be contacted by a member of our building team within 48 hrs." Must be why it's raining Contracted completion date 24 July 2010. What's today's date????? Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Thanks Haven We don't do external lights although I'm sure the kids would love us to! My birthday was nice, relaxing (I had the flu) and I got some lovely surprises so that was really nice. That's a good increase. I'm looking forward to having our house valued once the final bits out the back are complete. Especially when comparing it to other's for sale around the area and down along Plenty Rd My DH was going to ride but changed his mind. Probably a good thing, it rained for ages. Our tanks overflowed but the grass is looking lush! lisanne Are they the ones up behind me? If so they aren't even pegged out yet! Yep on the other side of M.Rd to what is being built now (cnr heading down to you). We got a brouchure on the release via the postman. The other blocks took along time to sell. I wonder how quick these ones will go? lisanne I noticed the block next to mine has had a soil test done - is there anyway I can check to see what kind of house they are planning to build before it's approved? Sorry have no idea. The Sales Office usually know who the builder is lisanne Has anyone else noticed the new Bakery sign?? Opening up in January is a bakery in the original old town bakery, looks like it could be nice! The one on Schotters Road? It's going to be lovely, I love a good bakery! It's nice that they are re-doing the original shop up. Happy at Home Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 1430Dec 12, 2009 6:52 am I finally took a drive through the new release behind the Displays last night. The first house has started and has a meter box. Thought of you Helloween I guess it won't be long till the houses start popping up. Central Village didn't take long to fill. Happy at Home Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 1431Dec 12, 2009 8:04 am Wow... that was quick - we (of the release behind the display village) only settled the week before last. Was planning to go down to the University Hill farmers market this morning so I might take a sticky beak. Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 1433Dec 12, 2009 1:31 pm The farmers market is tiny at the moment - only a few stalls and it doesn't have the Tart Lady who makes an appearance at the Templestowe market. Hurstbridge which was last weekend is a much better farmers market, but with a little support I can see University Hill growing quite nicely. I had to go up there today to pick up my basket of winnings. Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 1434Dec 12, 2009 8:05 pm Hi guys I know this is off topic a bit, but was just wondering whether anyone has the inside news on whether cravens rd off bridge inn road will ever be sealed? Hurstbridge which was last weekend is a much better farmers market, but with a little support I can see University Hill growing quite nicely. I happened to be there yesterday, so had a look around the market. It certainly was small, but the quality looked pretty good and prices of the things I looked at weren't bad. I thought the same thing, that with time it could grow into a good-sized market, as long as it gets the patronage. I might have bought a few things, but my husband had just headed out to do the fruit and veg shopping and didn't have his phone with him. I didn't want to double up on everything. Is anyone else finding heaps of ants in the house? Re: Ladies and Gents, step right up! Mernda Villages 1437Dec 13, 2009 3:26 pm No ants here but the flies - OMG!! I just went for a walk up around the new parts near me and had to make sure I kept my mouth shut as there would have been at least 10 to 20 flying around me at any one time! Thankfully they aren't as bad at my house, it must be something to do with the digging of the soil that they are hanging around a bit more there but not sure. I also discovered why I can hear so many pigeons, the neighbours behind the trees have a massive aviary with what I assume are homing pigeons. Which might also explain why the rabbits seem to love their place I also can't believe how much land they have pegged out now! All the way up Masons road and south all seem to be pegged out for blocks and roads! 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.'
