Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 06, 2021 5:30 pm Hello Experts, We are trying to buy a lot of land with an intention to build in near future, so don't have a developer right now. The lot has two lines marked through it and when we checked with the council they mentioned that its a drainage easement that the lot is burdened with. Any development proposed would need to consider this easement and not impact on the drainage. We checked with the council and there are no actual drains built but the area between the lines is the drainage easement. The council says that any development proposed would need to consider this easement and not impact on the drainage. We are trying to find out if if others have had something similar and were able to build a house with required approvals, is this something normal that builders and architects can handle and still be able to use the land for a normal house; or this is too much of a problem and we should pass this opportunity for now. We can't start building right now but the location is good and we wanted to secure the land. Am attaching a picture if that helps. The lot in question is on the right side and the two lines are visible on the picture. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Need more photos from around the house including your gutters.
