Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 05, 2019 12:17 am Hello all I was crawling around my sub floor space to check for water issues. Our subfloor flooded a couple weeks back during a heavy storm and we're currently trying to sort it out. Already installed extractor fans and a couple vent holes to help with the ventilation. https://imgur.com/a/7bDwodk What surprised me was finding these white/yellow fluffy things scattered on top of the soil, I am not sure whether it is mould or fungus. We're not sure what to do with this, we are the new owner but the house is really old, so appreciate any advice that can be given! Re: Is this mould or fungus in my sub floor? 2Jan 07, 2019 4:44 pm Matchlock It doesn't look like mineral salts which are left behind when water evaporates so I would get an expert in and have it tested ASAP. It can be very dangerous so don't go near it until you can confirm it isn't mould or fungus. I would also inform your home insurance company as if it is fungus or mould then it can mean very extensive works and they may arrange the testing for you. You may be able to claim it against for insurance policy so read your fine print. Good luck Re: Is this mould or fungus in my sub floor? 3Jan 07, 2019 4:58 pm Write reply...
