Are these Termites

Hi Everyone,

First time poster. I have found an old stump in our backyard which is fairly soft and is covered in the ants in the photo.

I suspect they are a breed of termite. Can someone please confirm this for me

I doesn't look like termites or their nest.
It's another type of ant but I'm pretty sure it's nothing to worry about

As there are 360 species of termites in Australia it's difficult to confirm without local knowledge of the species generally found in your area.

You could contact your local pest controller or entomologist and send a photo for identification.
