Hey guys I've been following this thread for a while sadly not in time for electricals but I will need to call in a technician anyway.
Great ideas and info on here thanks!
I've just purchased some smart bulbs off Amazon to work with Alexa, however most lamps here are not screw ons!!! Anyone know where I can get a converter kit from GU to screw ons? I've tried Bunnings they don't have it. If I can't find any, these bulbs are just gonna be a waste

ikea

Hi thanks for that what would I be looking for though? I had a look through their website and only see screw on bulbs, nothing for converting GU to screw on

Don't get all the obsession with Dyson.

Word of warning for anyone getting a robot vacuum, they are good little sweepers but when they bump into walls they leave a mark so you end up with a black line all around your skirting.

Thanks for the tip. I won’t get one

Re Dyson - three are rubbish buy a Miele vacuum - soo much better!!!!!!

I actually like the built-in vacuum as it's convenient and powerful. The Dyson is sitting in the cupboard gathering dust....

I have kids. Dyson stick vacumn is a lifesaver!

Good idea!

Just installed some wifi switches for my garden lights using TPlink HS100 and using the mobile App to control and schedule the lights from anywhere in the world.

Hi Orpheus

For my one-bedroom apartment setup, you would be looking at around $3500.00 with installation and commissioning in VIC
(this price does not include the Amazon Echo,Google Home and Netgear Nighthawk D7800).

I see you are from Sydney, we are able to help but there would be additional travel cost.

Feel free to get in contact so we can provide you with a tailored solution.

Hi brucefil2011

I use HIKVISION IR Cube Wireless Network Camera. It's a wifi camera so all you need to do is putting the IP address in when creating a device in Home Center

Here is a picture of the interface on my tablet

Hello, we were wondering if anyone knows of any IT consultants that can help with putting together a home network, eg what router, switch and waps to buy and how to connect the cables in to security cameras etc.

We know that most people do it themselves but we’re a bit confused as there are so many options out there. So far we can only see IT consultants for businesses, or people that fix IT hardware at home but don’t advise on home networks. We’re not planning a full home automation solution, just something that provides good wifi around the house, some wireless music, and security cameras. (So no a/c, blinds or interior lighting integration needed)

Any suggestions would be great, thx
