2 Zoned Air-con + Solar vs 4 Zoned Air-con

Hi guys,

Need your recommendation and assistance to decide between two different air-con zoned configuration.

If you are building two story house with 4 bedrooms + study + theater + 3 living rooms in Sydney West area, and you have the option to select the set up of your air-con.

Which of the following will help to save dollars in terms of running cost and maintenance for 5 years time?

1. 2 Zoned Air-con + Solar Power System, initial cost is $11K
2. 4 Zoned Air-con, initial cost is $5K

The answer will depend on how you intend to use the spaces as a family and how you tiller are heat etc.

I would opt for the 2 zone so more of the house can be cooled at once. The 4 zone would probably be only cooling a small section at once. So if your family is spread out through the house that may not work for you or the opposite.

However for running a costs I would say that the 4 zone would be much cheaper because it would be cooling half the area
