Hi everyone,
We've been umming and ahhing over house plans for our new build at the Village at Wellard but we think we've finally found "the one" - a new plan by HGWA called the Monza
Looking at their inclusions, it seems they've brought in their own brand of things - sinks, toilets, some kind of bench top stone - and appliances. I know there are lots of HGWAers out there - has anyone had experience using the products yet?
What's it like?
Apparently they offer a free standing 900mm oven - anyone know if this is upgradeable if we wanted an under bench oven instead?
Thanks in advance, I've started stalking all your threads and have picked up some great tips so far - I need to go through them again with a pen and notepad!

Welcome to the HGWA family!
We changed our oven specifications numerous times.
From memory its 500ish to upgrade to 900mm underbench westinghouse oven, we then changed this to two basic westinghouse 600mm wall ovens with cupboards instead of pot drawers under for no cost. We have since upgraded those ovens to side opening doors for anoother $550.
Hope this is not too confusing
congrats on finding the ONE
we are putting in our own ovens.
Westinghouse ok.
I love the look of French cloud Q-stone
The Westinghouse freestanding that comes with the resort specs has really good reviews, if it didn't we would have changed it out. Happy to stick with it and given it is freestanding, we can change it later if we need.
As for the other stuff (bench tops etc) I'm not a fan, but apart from the benchtop the other stuff is fairly easy to change later if needed.
Welcome to the forum seems more and more HGWA people are joining everyday, I love it
I just went with the westinghouse freestanding cause well it is a cooking appliance and I do not really care for them hahahaha!

So its a Westinghouse oven and not their own brand?
We were in their new Torquay Platinum display on the weekend and I thought I read Della Vita on either the cooktop or the wall ovens - can't remember!
If it's Westinghouse that's fine as I'm going to be putting in a second 600mm oven after handover anyway.
Cupcakes - how did you convince them to let you put in your own appliances?
wellard2ndtimers we were allowed to supply our own ovens if we wanted to. You will get a credit back for the deleted oven and then they charge a fee for owner supply. You just needed to know the models and specs at prestart so they could draw the plans up accordingly.
Hi Wellard2ndTimers!
Dylan here from HGWA. Just subscribing to your build journey, so if you need anything just ask and I will try my best to put you in touch with the right person here at Home Group WA.
Cheers,
Dylan
Hey Dylan
I have got a build thread as well but seeing as you're here - can you please tell me the model number of the freestanding Westinghouse that comes with your homes?
Thanks, W2T
Hey W2T ... I can answer this one for you because we asked ... so unless it has changed since we were given the info, the model is a Westinghouse WFE914SA and the range hood is the WRF900CS.
Oh now I wonder, we are resort specs, are you the same level of spec?? I would imagine if yours is the freestanding oven then it should be the same. The reviews on it are pretty good though.
Marcia, yep same oven for both specs

Wellard2ndTimers - I can confirm Marcia is 100% correct there

Thank you - googling it now!
If it's a free standing oven will food and sauces and stuff fall down the side and attract ants ?
Or is the bench top literally made so there's no gaps ??

Hey Lauraphil
My friend has just build through home group and I am currently building myself
The top of the free standing oven has no gap with the bench but then there is a slight gap down the sides of the oven to cupboard, she now hates her oven as she says she can't keep down the sides clean from the small gap, I am changing mine to the built in oven
Hope this helps
