1020 entrance door with 400 sidelight vs 1200 entrance door

What should you prefer, a 1020mm entrance door with single 400mm sidelight, or a single 1200mm hinged door? I have a 1690 wide porch, so I think I can fit both.
1200mm, love our larger door
Our 1200mm hinged was great for getting large things in & out, deliveries of whitegoods & furniture, etc etc without damaging anything accidentally around the entrance area. We also had it open all day during the day when home, was great for airflow too.

I will add, however, that with our new build we'll have a door which faces north again, and as a result we won't be using the same style of standard door as previously (the wood finish with the half-dozen-or-so panes of glass which are super common/popular). It only lasted about 4 years before it started looking sun-damaged (the panels sort-of started separating) and they replaced that, and the 2nd one was heading in the same direction when we sold 3-4 months ago.

We're not quite sure what we'll do yet, but if you do have one that faces north & you're getting one installed (which is most people as it's basically the standard), keep an eye on it.

Ours looked like a wider version of:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Sounds like 1200mm is the way to go.
