yeah - I've heard of modular fences, but I'm not a fan of their look.

for paling fences, I really rate Paul from Domestic Fencing, he's just a nice bloke, and explains everything really well. He made a point of wanting to actually meet me on site so that he could discuss options, rather than second guessing what we might want.

for brick fence, I'm going to have a crack at doing it myself, assuming we can get council approval, possibly something not dissimilar to this - unsure if we'll render it yet, or bring down the same colours as we have on the house

Ok we have to decide as some of them look pretty good. Thanks for the paling contact. Hubby wants either modular or colorbond. Wow you are doing a brick wall yourself... that pic looks good. We have a few issues. Will provide an update in my next post.

We had Colorbond fences at our last house, and never again. They are a massive cobweb magnet - we had redbacks in ours, after 7 years, the panels were beginning to rust, and they just don't breathe...

Personally I'll never put in one of those fences again. They make sense, but the maintenance is too high. I've got to replace most of my in-laws fences next time we go to visit, as theirs have nearly rusted out. The father in law wants Colorbond again, but the MIL and I have convinced him to go palings this time

An update from me. Our customer presentation meeting is pushed out to 26 Sep. We were very disappointed with Electricals as they made a fair few errors. Heating vents cut out in the wrong space in rumpus and one kids bedroom..not sure how they will correct this as how do u patch plaster? Then our led lights on portico not aligned n not in the right place, the 360 degree sensor incorrect as well. Some external wiring at wrong locations, some switches in the way of the mirrors and all internal junction boxes not installed, some exhaust fans not centered n the list goes on.
The stacker door is the 100 series instead of 300 so they have to even rip out the wooden frame not sure how that will go. Kitchen splashbacks incorrectly installed. Portico roof is water logged as balcony waterproofing was not done prior to plastering of portico so it has to be ripped out n re done. Our SS has been really good and will be getting all these fixed. He too was disappointed with the Electrical apprentices.
Besides that in terms of progress we have carpets installed, mirrors in all bathrooms installed.

I had no idea Drew as it looks really neat and in good shape in some houses where I pass by. Of course not sure what they are doing to maintain. We got fence quote for 11k for the frontfence 1.2m high including our electronic gate ..is that good or bad? Any advice appreciated.

An update from us....our customer presentation has been delayed to the 1st Friday of October. They have started working on the Balustrade and fixed the front door lock, put a new portico plasterboard but still have to fix all the electrical and stuff that was wrong earlier. Tiles have to still be put for the balcony and we don't have gas in either. When did everyone's gas get connected and how long after did they get the occupancy. What is the order from now?

Did you sort out if the slider door was series 100 or 300?

The stacker door was 100 series in error so 300 series has been ordered and it's coming next week to be installed. Our customer presentation is mid October.

Good to know that it's sorted. Your SM should have picked it up during the build.

[/quote]We have PCI or customer presentation next week and not sure anything has happened this whole week. Are appliances and gas and tank etc. Done for PCI? We have only had the balcony tiling done and the portico roof redone.

Customer Presentation done!
We had a pretty good CP with most issues mainly paint touch ups, but hoping they do a re roll rather than a touch up which looks awful from certain angles. Other items were
scratches on 2 kitchen cupboard doors which they said they would replace.
3 missing junction boxes
Outdoor room door to be replaced (Already called out earlier)
General cleaning inside so much dust!
Clearing building rubble from outside.
Feature walls to be painted
Gas line to be fitted and heating and hot water to be checked after that.
Staircase to be restained the correct colour.
Caulking in some spots that were missed.
Appliances n solar heater to be installed.
Rain water tank to be installed.
Now have to wait for our Independent Inspectors report and hopefully no major items in there.

Our SM was very good and willing to address any concerns we had. We took 4 hours and in the end had to sign off on his tablet.

Now not sure how long to handover....will it be 4 weeks or more ? We need to line up tradies n furniture stuff so hopefully it all goes to plan.

Nothing has happened since CP that I can see from the outside. Still waiting for the gas line. So not sure how all the balance items will get done in the next 2 weeks. How long have people waited between PCI /CP and handover? And what happens in terms of next steps....

Our supervisor said the standard is three weeks (ours was longer due to things outside their control).
Theyll get things fixed, their inspector will go back through to check its all done, and theyll get occupancy approved. Then book in handover.
Hi all...
Nothing has happened since CP for us. Our SM said he is waiting for the gas to be installed before he can complete the rest of the items from our outstanding checklist.
Anyway hoping that we get gas soon and we get handover pre Christmas.
Keeping our fingers crossed as have to get things organized like concreting etc.
