Regrouting entire bathrooms

We built with Coral in 2015, tiler used wrong grout colour on bathroom walls, took 12 months for them to stop denying it and do something about it. They advised against ripping out grout and redoing as would damage wall tiles so they had the grout painted with grout paint. Looks crap 12 months in. Thinking of going back and getting them to regrout instead.

Has anyone had wall tiles regrouted and did it cause damage to tiles?

Thanks

I have not, but I suspect it would depend on the tiles, the gaps between them and the method used to remove the grout. Rectified tiles typically have very small gaps, so it might be difficult finding a tool to remove the grout. Non-rectified tiles generally have bigger gaps. Then there is the hardness and coating to consider. The harder the tile, the less prone to damage during the grout removal process. Similarly, glazed tiles may show any damage more than unglazed tiles.

It might be helpful if you posted a picture or two.
